- We will start with a short intro to alpacas, where they come from, the do's and don'ts in handling, and about their care and fiber. We will visit the males and then the females and babies. Our guests will be able to touch the animals and feel why they are considered the next cashmere. They will also be able to feed them some grain and take as many pictures with and of the animals as they desire. We also have guardian dogs that guests will meet and learn why we have these beautiful animals. Our dogs are socialized and not mean, but they have a job to do to protect our animals from predators and they know what they are there for. After the animal experience, we will move on to the fiber produced from these beautiful creatures. Guests will be able to handle raw fiber, learn the difference between good and bad and about the shearing process and how it is made into yarn, etc. They will also be able to purchase, if they desire, any products that we have in our store. we will have refreshments with time to ask questions or just visit. - Fun for all ages! We’ll start out talking about alpacas, including how to approach and interact with them. Then we will move to the yard and introduce our four alpacas! We’ll explain what makes alpacas unique, and what they like and dislike. We will also share and clear up myths and misconceptions about them. Guests will have the opportunity to pet and feed the alpacas, take one for a walk around the yard, and take lots of pictures. Come with all of your alpaca questions! Next we will move on to the chicken habitat and everyone will have the opportunity to observe, pet, and feed them. Please feel free to take lots of pictures! We will go in the coop to look for eggs, and finish up the outdoor tour with the smaller chicken coop, where you can meet a member of the smallest chicken breed in the world! - This wonderful farm tour and encounter will take at approximately 2 hours. On our farm tour , you will start with an enjoyable sit down introduction to our farm and alpacas specifically. This intro will capture the interest of the oldest to the youngest visitor. Questions are encouraged all along the way. You will then have the opportunity to get up close and personal with most of our herd of alpacas in a safe and enjoyable way. You will also get to see Kevin the peacock, Chickens, Ducks, Horses, farm Cats and Livestock Guardian Dogs which you can also brush if you wish. - We will start our journey up the canyon as we listen to some tunes and chat as we drive through an iconic Utah road. Once we get to the crater, we will go over some safety tips and enjoy a one hour dip in one of the coolest and most hidden gems in the world. (Water is a consistent 96 degrees. Not as hot as a hot-tub but warm enough to be relaxing) Once our dip in the crater is over, we will head back down to SLC and stop at THE BEST chocolate factory in the city (it is soooo good that they once had their own TV show) where we will drink the best hot (dark) chocolate your lips have ever tasted.
