Iosif ist ein wunderbarer Gastgeber. Nicht nur zur Begrüßung, auch zwischendurch gab es immer wieder frisches Obst und Köstlichkeiten der Region. Iosif hat uns auch zu Events und Aktivitäten in der Umgebung informiert und beraten. Wir haben die Ruhe und die Aussicht auf die Bucht sehr genossen. Ein schöner Ort zur Erholung und zum Erkunden der Umgebung.

It was a pleasure and a nice experience to stay at Thanos's place! A perfect place for those who prefer to experience real Crete beyond the tourist crowds and in a peaceful way. The small village is adorable, the local tavern is amazing, the location also suits well for setting up a base to explore the island - the peaceful, distant beaches are just a 30-50 minutes drive away. The place itself is a gem, if you appreciate an experience to stay in the authentic surroundings and the host was always responsive and very welcoming! Would return there next time for sure!

Wir hatten eine unbeschreiblich schöne Zeit in der Windmühle. Der Ausblick und der Garten sind umwerfend. Alles ist mit soviel Liebe zum Detail hergerichtet. Es fehlte uns an nichts. Im Ort kann man sehr gut essen. Man fühlt sich einfach wohl. Wir sind glücklich, dass wir dort sein durften. Wer das Besondere sucht, dem kann diese Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Armeni is a small village located in a Cretan mountains plateau. Stone Mansion, placed at the calm edge of the village, is a beautiful summer house, deserving its name. It hosts 3 apartments, with a large common yard/terrace. I was the only guest at the time, so I had all the luxury just for myself. The terrace itself and the surroundings offer majestic sky views with hypnotic sounds of pristine nature (frogs?) at night. In the morning, you are greeted with the calling of hysterical roosters. An authentic, rural, countryside at its best. The rooms are cosy, spacious and airy, modern, and fully equipped for a comfortable life. The nearest coast is located ~20 minutes by car, I loved a little bit more distant Xerokampos for its diverse beaches, dubbed "Greek Maldives". Eva and her mom were genuinely warm and forthcoming as hosts, even though we met just briefly. Greeted me with fruit and homemade cookies, communicated well on chat. This was despite my late notice and on Sunday. Thanks!<3

Nous avons passé un moment exceptionnel chez Maria. La maison est magnifique, perchée dans un petit hameau préservé. tout est parfait, il ne manque rien pour que vous y soyez à l’aise et surtout la décoration y est splendide. L’équipement de la cuisine, la qualité de la lingerie : tout est de bon goût et appréciable.nous avons été accueillis comme des rois, le frigo était plein c’était incroyable. de plus nous avons partagé plusieurs repas avec Elsa ,Adonis,son mari et des habitants du village. ce fut des moments de grande amitié, où nous avons pu échanger sur la culture et la musique grecque . Ne manquez pas ce lieu ,c’est une expérience inoubliable. Encore une fois,ici, l’hospitalité grecque prend tout son sens.

I have only good things to say about this home, I was extremely happy with my stay here. The space is clean, comfortable and thoughtfully created. The hosts are warm and provided incredible Cretan hospitality. I felt really relaxed and welcomed through the whole stay. The village is something special with a kind of character and old world charm that makes this island a treasure. The surrounding areas are breathtaking and I believe the beaches nearby might be some of the best on the island. Maria was so generous sharing her suggestions of places to visit, always responsive and kind. Anna greeted me personally on arrival, gifting me amazing baked goods and some of the smoothest raki I’ve ever tasted. If you have the opportunity to stay here you absolutely should, it is the kind of place that you will always remember fondly. Thank you Anna and Maria! I am so grateful for your grace and hospitality ♥️

What a find this place was. Beautifully restored traditional house in an amazingly beautiful village in the hills above the Pefki Gorge. The house is well provisioned and very tastefully decorated. Great ventilation and insect screens on the windows. We were there for a week and the temps were very hot, but we didn't need to use the AC at all. Wonderful local taverna - we went three times. Don't miss the Sunday night music and traditional dancing. Fanis the owner is very friendly and absolutely hilarious. A great local kafeneio - don't ask for a menu, just ask what's for lunch. Great views to the Libyan Sea - it is just 10 minutes down to Makry Gialo. Search around and you will find quiet beaches without rows of sunbeds if that's not your thing. A great base to explore East Crete, there are awesome mountain roads with cute villages and amazing views. Elina gave us great recommendations for restaurants and was very helpful. We loved this place. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

Wir haben uns sehr wohgefühlt. Die meiste Zeit haben wir auf der Terrasse verbracht. Die Wohnung ist praktisch eingerichtet - für ein einfaches Frühstück und Essen findet man alles, was man braucht. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich, hatten sogar ein paar Kleinigkeiten und Obst bereitgestellt. Sie haben uns auch eine nette Nachricht mit Ausflugstipps geschickt. Wir haben uns sofort in den Diaskari Beach verliebt - ein nicht so überlaufener (jedenfalls Anfang Juni) Strand, ca. 10 Autominuten entfernt mit einer netten Taverne und Hängematten am Strand.
