Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Morecambe Bay

We came up just for a long weekend to watch the Pen-y-Ghent fell race. It was a family regroup so needed to be close to the railway. The cottage was lovely, had every we needed and everything worked. The hosts communicated everything we needed to know in good time and warmly which was much appreciated. There was plenty of information about the local amenities and had a lovely Father’s Day meal at the Bridge Inn in Tatham. The weather was a bit changeable which was a shame because I bet you can see a lot of stars without all the light pollution we get down south. It didn’t hurt the experience at all and we would definitely book again. Just need better knees to explore the locality. Thanks Alison and Simon for a lovely stay.

We had a lovely stay at Tethera Nook, it had everything we needed and was very comfortable for our group. The space itself is very well thought out and we loved the bath, the gardens, the friendly chickens and the super comfy beds, thank you Emma and Craig.

Travelling from Australia, this was a great safe spot to keep our motorcycles out of eyes view on the way to the Isle Of Man TT. House was beautiful, spotlessly clean. Appreciated the fresh milk, and bread for a quick breakfast in the morning. Was surprised that we could get an Uber and had a great meal at the Fleece Inn and only cost £6 each way. Would be a great place to stay for more nights

We have stayed here twice now and it has been perfect both times, when we encountered an issue with booking we messaged and got a helpful answer first thing in the morning which was amazing as we booked same day. I would recommend this house for any one needing a place on a quick turnaround and pet friendly. Great location for access to the city, very walkable. Thank you.

It was perfect. I was worried about being so close to the local pub but I had nothing to worry. You couldn’t hear anything. It was so peaceful. I would totally recommend a stay at Rachael’s accommodation.

The house was plenty big enough for 5 of us, an added bonus of having 2 bathrooms when there's a few of you. The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen we have ever stayed in, I cooked a Sunday roast there and it was lovely to have a dishwasher to take care of all the pots. Simba next doors dog was an added bonus for us he was there every morning ready for a walk in the orchard or field with us. We saw peacocks, hares and hedgehogs whilst staying here. Matthew was kind enough to show us all some hedgehogs they were rehabilitating and told us about future plans they had for the surrounding area. A very enjoyable stay for us all in the countryside

Our visit sadly took an unexpected turn and Imogen was so very kind and considerate with our unfortunate circumstances. Her place was perfect and we hope to return in the future under happier times. No hesitation in recommending

Diane's house is a beautiful place to stay in Lancaster. In the surroundings of the city's Castle, the place is well placed in the heart of the city and just 7 mints to the main stores. The house is small but it has everything you need, including a living room to have lunch and well equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfy to sleep. I struggled to find the house at the beginning due to incorrect name of the street. Other than that, the experience was gorgeous. I will definitely suggest to stay there.

We had a lovely stay; the location is wonderful, surrounded by farmland with baby lambs overlooking the seating area! The apartment is very well specced and looked after, with a small garden house further up the hill opposite and an amazing river a short walk across the fields where we went for a swim. The photos do not do the property justice, it is a gem. Would definitely come back to use as a quiet base to explore the lakes from again.

Excellent place to stay. Great location for Preston City Centre. Very clean bed,bathroom and facilities. Wi fi excellent - would definitely stay again. One thing which is not John’s fault - since getting back I’ve had 4 separate parking fines from Preston council for driving (£140 total at least!) through a ‘bus gate’ which I wasn’t aware of, the satnav just took me that way! Would be useful for a heads up when staying in the city centre!

What a place! Far better then my fiends 4* hotel. 4 mins walk frim the winter gardens, 3 mins walk to the shopping centre, 9 mins walk from Blackpool North train station. So clean and tidy. I slept on the sofa bed and had a few goods night sleep. I couldnt fault it. Towels, bedding, kitchen fully fitted (utensils etc). I will stay again!!!

What a fabulous few days me and my boys had ..I’ve never seen them so relaxed (ages 35 and 37 )x I think it was the lovely energy we felt in the beautiful Nest xx looking out over the river each morning set us up for the day. Would recommend 100% , we had everything we needed ..I couldn’t fault it ..the bedrooms immaculate and the beds /bedding were soft clean and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the gym and pool offer also x staff there were lovely at the Swan Hotel. Thank you xx

Exactly as described. Set up with everything needed for a self catering stay. Central location to shops and beach. The flat decor is a little tired but was clean and comfortable.

We absolutely loved the rooftop! Arriving to a few treats and a hand written card was a perfect start to our stay! The apartment was very clean and tidy, we highly recommend!

Die Wohnung ist schön, liebevoll gestaltet und großzügig mit "Verbrauchsgütern" ausgestattet: Kaffee, Tee, Süßigkeiten, Seife, Spülmittel und vieles mehr. Sie liegt zentral aber ruhig. Der Hafen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants sind gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Im historischen Stadtkern von Whitehaven gibt es einige sehr renovierungsbedürftige und auch leerstehende Gebäude. Wer nur Perfektes mag, wird sich dort nicht wohlfühlen. Es gibt aber auch viel Schönes und Interessantes. Die Menschen, mit denen wir in Kontakt gekommen sind, waren freundlich und hilfsbereit. Uns hat es gefallen.

My family and I had a lovely stay at Ray and Sue’s. The place was beautiful and perfect for the 8 of us and Ray and Sue were very accommodating. It is close to a local pub and coop which was a positive for us. Recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area, and we hope to come back again!

This is our second time staying at the loft and we were not disappointed. As expected everything was clean and tidy and all that was required in the kitchen was in place. Alison and Victor were very helpful and accommodating before our stay regarding our booking. If we visit the area in the future we will definitely return to the loft and I will recommend to family and friends

A charming place to stay, full of character, clean and well equipped - and very comfy beds! Cathy was a wonderful host, welcoming and responsive. The location of the property was great being in a lovely location by the castle and within easy walking distance of the city centre so no need to use the car once we had arrived! (We did drive out of Lancaster on one day but could have used the local train service and Lancaster train station is nearby). We had a lovely time and definitely would love to come back and stay again.

Excellent stay for the races! The apartment is right in the centre of Cartmel. Compact but perfectly adequate and a fun place to stay. Car park seconds away, restaurants seconds away, race entrance seconds away and lots of pubs seconds away! No noise heard from outside! Great weekend. Overall perfect stay!
