Ben was a wonderful host and met me at the airport at 2:00 a.m, which is over and above the regular host. He runs a tight ship and his place is within easy walking distance of shopping and dining in Colonia.

Great place a short drive from the main road or about 10-15 min walk. Host gave perfect directions. Place was clean and comfortable with AC and washer dryer which is great. Thanks for hosting me

renting a great stay if you are ever around Pohnpei! Aunty Rose met me at the airport and took me to the house, which has all the amenities you need for a stay. super beautiful surroundings but I recommend renting a car as there is no way to get around otherwise.

We had a great time in Kosrae, and I have to say that this was largely thanks to Josh, who was always attentive to make sure we had everything we needed. Getting to the accommodation is no problem, as they pick you up at the airport. They offer free kayaks so you can explore the mangroves—a fantastic experience! One of the days, it rained all day, and we thought we wouldn’t be able to do anything, but Josh took us to visit a couple of places by car. He informed us about all the excursions available on the island and contacted the necessary people to make them happen. We were also very satisfied with the food at the Nautilus restaurant—if you go, don’t miss the chance to try Kosrae’s traditional dish. Without a doubt, if we ever return to this beautiful island, we won’t hesitate to stay here again!

I cannot recommend this place enough. I highly, highly encourage folks to stay here, and to spend time with the host, Ben. He is the funniest, kindest person who will make your time in Yap remarkable. I was just passing through Yap on business and wasn’t expecting much, but ended up having such an amazing time that I can’t wait to come back. I felt right at home, was able to cook and enjoy community space while also having my own room and quiet time. The location is great, it’s extremely walkable to colonia for restaurants and stores. I recommend playing cards and having a cup of coffee with Ben. He has a beautiful garden and can tell you all about the medicines that grow there. His family also stopped by frequently and were all so kind and fun to connect with. I had lots of great laughs, and learned lots about Yapese and Ultihian history and culture. Everyone was so helpful and personable, I will always hold the friendships I made with them close to my heart. 5 stars and beyond!

Ben, der Besitzer des Bayside Inn, ist wie der Vater einer Familie, die von seinen Gästen gebildet wird. Er versucht ständig, die Wünsche seiner Gäste von den Augen abzulesen und zu erfüllen. Im Haus nebenan wohnt Nick, ein Neffe von Ben. Nachdem ich ihnen gesagt hatte, dass ich mich besonders für die Kultur und das Segeln interessiere, organisierten sie für mich Möglichkeiten, von denen ich kaum zu träumen gewagt hatte. Dank Ben und Nick durfte ich Dinge sehen und erleben, die normalen Touristen verschlossen bleiben. Sicherlich sind andere Hotels auf Yap luxuriöser, bequemer (und auch teurer), aber für mich war das Bayside Inn die beste Wahl, die ich treffen konnte.
