Holiday rentals with a patio in Matala beach

This was one of the nicest AirBnB apartments I have rented. What was responsive to questions prior to the trip, arranging taxi service from the airport. Even though our flight was two hours late and we didn't arrive until 10 pm she was there to greet us and show us the apartment. Her restaurant recommendations were outstanding. Finally, the location on the outskirts of Old Town Rethymno could not have been better. I enthusiastically recommend this place!

This place was so nice! It was in a great location, right on the beach, we were able to take the beach chairs and there were many nice food choices. Cute little beach town with easy bus access. Totally recommend and would love to stay here again!

I can’t say that enough about Nikoloaos and his wife as hosts! They were so incredibly kind and responsive. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable and fun. By far the best Airbnb hosts I’ve encountered in my travels. I would very highly recommend a stay at this Airbnb. If you don’t, you’re missing out!

The apartment is spacious and the terrace is very large with electronic canopy. The hot tub was well heated and very clean, including an outdoor shower on the terrace. The sunset is beautiful to watch from the terrace and the restaurants are within walking distance. The access road is adventurous, but doable. Very quiet neighborhood and beach about 100 meters away.

Very nice Villa and very friendly host. Her father is also living there and takes care of the garden. You can park there easily. The equipment and stuff that is available is as promised in the description. Location is actually not right next to the beach, but 10-15mins by foot, but by car it’s only 2mins. The beach there is amazing. The water is quite flat for a while, which is nice for playing in the water and probably for kids. Also the restaurants (especially Seven) there are really good and have a good price.

Very nice place, clear constructions from the host, some sweats & local beverage to welcome the guests, really worth it!

If you’re trying to decide, just book it! This was probably my favorite place in Greece that we stayed. Great location, wonderful terrace. Well equipped kitchen. Lots of little extras that made us feel at home like creamer for coffee, toast with jam and honey. Wash machine was a bonus. Great communication. Would book again without hesitation!

Excellent location and house

The house is truly something special. The interior and design of the house is super tasteful and combines traditional Crete with modern elements. Everything in the house was spotless and brand-new. The view from the terrace was breathtaking and the courtyard was very cosy. We can only recommend this gem of house at Crete. The location is a little remote but perfect to relax and enjoy Crete off the beaten paths. We hope we will come back. Also the village where the house is located is so picturesque. Amazing local tavern with great authentic food are in walking distance.

A little piace of heaven! This is not just an incredibly beautiful villa with a gorgeous garden and pool. There comes so much more with this stunning location, from the peaceful surroundings to Irina's attention to detail and kindness. If you are looking for a place to relax, recharge and enjoy Crete far from tourist spots in complete privacy this is your place.

We had a great time at Eleni's. The accommodation is in the pretty village of Kamilari, very quiet and cozy. You can walk to both restaurants and the mini market. The house has just been renovated, it is large (there were two of us) and cozy. Very clean place, in perfect condition. Very well equipped, with everything you need: bath towels, beach towels, kettle, coffee machine, toiletries in the bathroom with very good products, super fantastic shower! A few kilometers away is the famous Matala beach and Kalamaki beach, equipped with umbrellas and lounge chairs. There's a free beach in Kommos. Eleni was very nice and always available when we called her. It was a great holiday, thank you Eleni!

Me and my family of 4 (kids 13 and 8) had a terrific time at the Eco House. A very light, clean house on spacious premises with a superview over the Lybian Sea, and under an immense sky full of stars. We had diner on the terrace, used the firegrill outside. Agios Pavlos was our favorite beach with a tasty taverna and superfriendly staff (a 10 minute drive). We made trips to Agia Galini, Knossos, Rethymnon, the mountains, monasteries and many other beaches, all within 20 minutes to max 1,5 hour driving distance. I rented a mountainbike and cycled the challenging peaks and routes in the beautiful, green area. I highly recommend the place and the host was extremely helpful over the phone and e-mail when we needed some info.

We can only agree with the many positive reviews. We had a great time in the beautiful mountain village – it was a special experience. Every morning we had breakfast on the roof terrace and enjoyed the tranquility. At first we thought the sea would be missing, but that wasn't the case at all. We really came to rest – walks in the area were enough for that. Actually, we planned to do more, but we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere so much that we took it easy. Nevertheless, we were traveling by car and made some nice excursions, including to the coast, where we discovered great restaurants. A vacation that will stay with us in very good memory. We had an amazing quiet time, the villa matches the photos. Note that the occupants of the villa above can see you, which has bothered us a lot, and that if there are children in the house next door it takes a little off the side alone in the world with the noise. If not, it's great.

Very nice apartment in a very good location, close to the sea, shops and restaurants. The bed is comfy, the kitchen has everything you need. Marirena provided me with all the clear and accurate information as soon as I arrived. I spent almost 3 weeks there, a real joy, I would go back without hesitation! Very nice accommodation with its large balcony. It's nice to be welcomed and to have breakfast available. Very good location to visit most of the must-see places. I recommend it!

Fabulous attentive host. Light bright spacious apartment with a lift. Generous welcome pack , great walk in shower, large extremely comfortable beds and nice fresh linen. Large Windows and sliding doors onto two terraces , one with the hot tub! Sunset and sea views from both terraces. Close to bars and restaurants with Indigos our favourite just across the road on the beach front. We hired a car from the host and went on an adventure. Definitely the way to see Crete! The mountainous centre is fantastic and you get to discover other great places. Recommend Evita beach Bali which is just 30 mins along the coast. Truly a piece of heaven. Very sad to leave!!! Thank you so much for everything!

Anna was a super helpful host. We worked from her place for a week. The apartment was perfect for what we needed. It’s only a short walk into town - which is very charming. The beach across the road has crystal clear water - even if there is some debris on the sand. The road is a bit noisy - but the doors keep out the noise. Anna’s place is spacious and very well appointed with everything you could need. Thanks to Anna for the late check out as well!

Excellent location, very clean and large apartment Comfortable beds, good quality air conditioning that is adjustable in each rooms Provided a travel cot and high chair for our baby which was very helpful Few steps up into the apartment, but then there is a lift to get luggage up Beautiful view, unfortunately the balcony was out of action for our stay as they were replacing the railing with a glass one - this did make it a challenge to dry clothes, but hopefully wont be an issue for others. Kitchen is pretty sparsely equipped, though we didn't need to do much cooking. Would have been good to have some cupboard essentials provided that you don't want to have to buy like condiments, coffee, oil, salt and pepper etc.
