Beachfront holiday rentals in Matala beach

we had a great week at Maria's place. The covered terrace is the most beautiful room in the house with a magnificent view of the sea. The beach is less than 5 minutes' walk away, but beware, for people who have difficulty walking, the slope is rather steep to climb. Maria is very responsive and responds very quickly to messages. Agia Pelagia remains a small seaside resort very well located to visit the north of the island. Beautiful discovery

Extremely helpful and quick to respond. Spacious and very cozy house, apart from the lack of bidet and wall support for the shower, everything was perfect. From the terrace you can enjoy an exceptional view on the sea and sunset. The car parking is a little limited (if shared with other cars) and the photos that indicate the route x the house a little dated (Philomena is now green!) overall extraordinary vacation. Very nice Villa and very friendly host. Her father is also living there and takes care of the garden. You can park there easily. The equipment and stuff that is available is as promised in the description. Location is actually not right next to the beach, but 10-15mins by foot, but by car it’s only 2mins. The beach there is amazing. The water is quite flat for a while, which is nice for playing in the water and probably for kids. Also the restaurants (especially Seven) there are really good and have a good price.

We loved our stay at Anastasio’s! The apartment was clean and just as the photos described. The location was beautiful, overlooking the water and within walkable distance to everything you could need. Anastasio and Fotis were extremely responsive and helpful, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They even allowed us to check in early when we arrived to the city earlier than expected. Thanks for a great stay!

We spent the most lovely time at Nikos place with our baby and friends. The villa is located directly by the sea with a spectacular view. We enjoyed really enjoyed our breakfasts watching the waves and listening to the ocean so much. The place is very quiet and private. Nikos is the most welcoming host and gave us great directions for the island. We can definitely recommend staying there! Thank you so much for having us.

Super clean and cozy apartment. We felt very comfortable from start to finish. Our host Panagiotis was always friendly and reliable. Supermarkets, different restaurants and the beach were within walking distance and around the property you always found a (free) parking space. Clear recommendation for those who want to travel to beautiful Agia Galini 👍🏻

Had a great time here! Vasilis was very accommodating and the place came as expected. Clean, great views of the water, and centrally located to the shops and restaurants in town. Highly recommend!

Jeronimo is a really great host. Very, very friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable and welcome right away. The accommodation is beautifully located above the small Soudabucht with magnificent views. Two recommended taverns are within walking distance. Jeronimo's bar is also great and not to be missed. We can highly recommend the beautiful, simple but functional accommodation.

This place is a treasure. The views from the living room and kitchen are spectacular. The house has many clever features that are well designed. The area around Almyrida is fun to explore--go down to the beach or on a hike along the coast. Almyrida is a cute beach town, very welcoming. And we did several further from the town adventures. We had no idea that Crete has so much to offer--pottery in Margarites, beautiful beaches, intense hikes, exceptional museums, exploring Hania's historic streets. The property management team were wonderful to interact with. We felt so fortunate to find such a gem. Thank you!!! We sure hope we can return.

Excellent experience - 5 stars across the board! If you're looking for a quiet exclusive place to stay, that offers all amenities for a great price - this is it. High quality furnishings, perfectly clean, super friendly and attentive host, amazing location just a few steps from the beach, basically no traffic - all you hear is the ambient sound of the sea, great restaurants close by,... the list goes on. Highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was better than expected! The location was great, we had easy beach access to a relatively quiet part of the beach. There were loads of great restaurants near us and we could walk into the town centre within 35 mins. Lovely amenities and very clean. Beautiful view of the ocean and square from our window. Pool was great with a lovely bar. Check-in was very easy and the staff at the hotel were very friendly. We would 100% recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Rethimno and looking to have a peaceful area to stay and don’t mind walking into town.

We’ve spent an absolutely amazing holiday at Triopetra Luxury Villas! The villa is located perfectly for those who admire calm and secluded south Crete - privacy and peacefulness is top notch. Thanks to Evangelia our stay was fantastic!

What a fantastic experience we had during our stay at this beautiful villa in South Crete! Everything exceeded our expectations. From the moment of arrival, it was immediately noticeable how extremely neat and hygienic everything was. The villa was really sparkling clean and taken care of down to the last detail. Everything you can think of was there – from utensils to beach towels – which made us feel right at home and completely relax. The hospitality of the host was extraordinary. He was always available for questions, gave us great tips about the area and made sure we really lacked nothing. What a warm welcome and service! The location of the villa is also absolutely a plus: beautiful in a quiet area, with stunning views and yet close to the most beautiful beaches and charming villages. I swam 5 kilometers and enjoyed after that the beautiful bar and restaurant close to the house. RECOMMENDED!

Highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking to stay in the area. The house was exactly as described and as pictured in the listing. Antonis was a great host and went above and beyond in many ways (helping with directions, providing local recommendations, leaving welcome treats and even giving us a departure gift). The house had everything you need and the pool was incredible. The town and beaches were also amazing!

The Hilltop Villas are exactly as shown in the photos. Modern facility, tip-top maintained. Very attentive hosts. Giannis and his mother Anna were very attentive and extremely helpful. We liked staying with them very much!

Very spacious, modern apt with a beautiful balcony. The street noise below made it difficult to sit out and talk there, but the view of the ocean was very nice. Well appointed kitchen. Very clean and neat. Mihalis gave us a great recommendation for dinner nearby that was lovely. We had a nice stay here

I loved the tiny house, every millimetre, it’s across the road from the shepherds caravan and you are lightly woken by him calling the goats in the morning. Wonderful. The cliffs are covered with wild thyme and the scent mingles with the sea breeze bringing another sensory tweak to the exceptional surroundings. From the moment you cross the mountain peak you are greeted with a never to forget 180 degree view of the deep blue Libyen Sea, that literally is on your terrace of the property. There are two empty beaches at the foot of the cliffs, but two cafes and a slightly busier beach in the village if you prefer. It’s an unspoiled paradise, on Sunday you can hear the monks song and the bells echoing up from the village. We only spent three nights in Tris Eklieses, but it will remain with me forever as a really unique experience. Outside of peak season the village supermarket is closed the nearest one is about 1/2 an hours drive away, I envy the owners, it’s a very special place. THX4ALL.

We spent wonderful and relaxing holidays in Dimitri's apartment. The apartment is fantastically beautiful and tastefully furnished, with high-quality furniture and it really lacks nothing. The terrace has a unique beautiful view of the sea and we spent many beautiful hours there. Dimitris is super friendly, always available and with helpful tips for excursions, restaurants, etc. he helped us a lot. He also organized the transfer from the airport and it worked out perfectly. The location of the apartment is also perfect. Supermarket and restaurants are within walking distance and the bus station is just across the street. We highly recommend the apartment, for us the most beautiful so far and we will gladly think back to the time and come back soon.

Niki and Cristos were really lovely and friendly hosts. Fresh flowers, homemade biscuits and cake, wine etc were provided and left in the apartment. The apartment was bright and clean. We absolutely loved our time here! The listing description was spot on. No surprises as everything was exactly as described. The best part was 100% the beach! Its literally right in front of the apartment! Falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves every night was so nice. Agia Pelagia itself is ideal for a relaxed vacation. The beach is peaceful, very clean, and has a great mix of sandy spots for lounging. There’s also a solid variety of restaurants nearby, plus plenty of supermarkets and souvenir shops just a short walk away. Everything you need is within walking distance. I came here with my best friend and we had the most amazing time. We’re already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful seaside getaway!

Perfect beachfront location- so close you sleep and awake to ocean sounds. Well situated between Matala and Reythmos, plus easy by car to get to archeological sites before the crowds. Perfect weather even in November!

We had a great time staying at Galini apartments. Erini and her husband were helpful responsive to any queries. There was always raki, watermelon and coffee available! The apartments were clean and a short walk to the beach, restaurants and supermarket.
