Houseboat holiday rentals in Markermeer

As always, we felt very comfortable and enjoyed the days on the houseboat very much!

We had a lovely time on Peter's houseboat. The location is great. Only a 15 minute walk to the station and the center yet incredibly peaceful. Everything we needed was available and we enjoyed the first rays of the spring sun on the dock in front of the houseboat. The daily visit from a group of geese was quite the highlight for our little boy. Peter welcomed us when we first arrived and was very accommodating and responsive to our questions. We explored the corners of Utrecht and beyond with the bike and can only recommend this lovely city. So many beautiful historic buildings, lovely canals and quaint little cafes and shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

I cannot recommend this boat enough. I wish I was back there right now! What a lovely surprise that it's even better than the photos. Extremely clean, excellent finish, very unique and an overall beautiful space. Location is lovely, a short walk to everything and easy tram access if you don't feel like walking. Leaving the best till last... Sietske is a wonderful and kind host. She couldn't do enough for us and made us feel extremely welcome. Thank you so much for helping make a big birthday even more special!!

We had a wonderful time at Anouk's houseboat. I was debating before booking if I should rather stay in the city but it was totally worth a train ride from Amsterdam Centraal to be in the nature. The grocery store is 3 minute bike ride so we could easily get things to cook and fix up a pasta dinner with a bottle of wine when we were tired of eating out and rather just wanted to relax watching the ducks and water lilies on the canal. The access was so private we didn't hear any traffic or other people. After all day walking around in Amsterdam full of tourists it was a nice way to close the day. My teenage kids really loved pausing and taking photos on the boat with beautiful water background to brag about to their friends later. One surprise was Zaanse Schans was so close. We rode bikes there and it was super easy. Beautiful brick streets and watching a boat goes under a drawbridge made it even more enjoyable.

There were five of us on site for an extended weekend and felt right at home. Everything was as described and visible in the pictures. Marie is very hospitable. Her houseboat offers a perfect place to relax and feel good. All around a successful weekend. We will be happy to come back.

A beautiful and serene place on the river, minutes walk from Arnhem city center. Marco kindly welcomed me to his houseboat – such a unique and comfortable place to stay! Spotlessly clean, cosy, comfy bed/bedding, quiet and peaceful, a slice of nature so close to the center but away from the noise. Nice walks along the river. A good night’s sleep. This is a gem of a place hosted by good people. Highly recommended.

Great space, great host! Hadewych was so responsive and helpful. I just loved the charm of the boat, it was a really neat experience! The bed was SO comfortable, I slept wonderfully. I do wish the couch was more comfortable though, was not conducive to getting comfy after a long day out exploring. It is an older boat so smells a bit musty and a few cobwebs in the chandelier, but you are able to open the windows and get the fresh air in which is very nice. Kitchen was well equipped, just didn't have a freezer which I wanted to store ice and ice cream etc. Had a problem with the pump but Hadewych was quick to remedy the situation. The location was superb - there was a fantastic grocery right around the corner (the produce is delicious!!), a lot of restaurants, cafes, etc. Overall a really great experience that I will cherish!

A stay with Irene and Ted is balm for the soul: great hosts, great accommodation, exciting surroundings for cyclists, canoeists, swimmers and nature lovers. We were there for the second time and hopefully not the last. Once again, wonderful holidays.

Absolutely brilliant houseboat. Super nicely decorated - very modern - equipped with everything you need. It was sparkling clean and cozy. We felt completely comfortable and enjoyed the life on the houseboat very much (a great experience). The boat includes a sup, which we tried despite the season. In and around the boat is very quiet and yet you are almost in the middle of it - it is only a few meters to the actual place. Really great: the supermarket is right across the street. Anita and Diedert are great and very attentive hosts, whom we did not meet in person but the communication with them was excellent. We would love to come again.

Fantastic place. So many cosy cubby holes and straight onto a floating pontoon with swans and ducks floating by. Easy walk to the free(!) ferry across the river to the centre of Amsterdam.

We were so lucky to be able to stay in such a beautiful place! The beds were comfy, the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful... it was a lovely escape from the busy, city-center. We LOVED the use of the kitchen and the deck just off the kitchen. Hein was so good to have bikes available for us. There is little available directly near the home but a 10 minute bike ride along the lovely road and over the bridge gets you to all you could want. We were sad to leave our Amsterdam home and will hope Hein's home is available when we return.

We had a wonderful weekend with Justin. We felt comfortable immediately and everything was very clean. From the accommodation, you can easily make excursions to Leiden, The Hague or the sea. The place is very private and quiet. Justin always responded quickly to our messages and was flexible with check-in and check-out times. I will recommend the accommodation! 😊

The place was very clean and equipped with everything you need. You don't need to bring anything. Everything is there. Check-in was completely hassle-free because Patrick the manager was easily accessible, very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time very much and would come back again. A little tip to all anglers. Take fishing rods with you ! Out of 10 we will 🌟 award 11 . Thanks for the wonderful time

Fern’s houseboat was AMAZING! Hands down my favorite Airbnb ever. Interior was beautiful and well kept. Location was close to so many shops, restaurants and the tram. Fern was very helpful and always responsive. Pepper was easily my favorite part of the stay though 😊 🐈‍⬛ ❤️

It was just wonderful to stay with you on the houseboat again. We weren't there for the first time and certainly not the last. Simply recommended and beautiful.

Our stay at Claire’s place was nothing short of magical. The location is hard to beat in the heart of Jordaan, steps away from great Dutch cafes, every restaurant we ate at was within a ten minute walk, every one was fantastic. As well as minutes walk from transit. Somehow though being in the middle of everything, being on the water in this houseboat makes you feel like you’re in your own private oasis. Claire has great taste, her home is designed impeccably, with one of the major highlights being the record player, listening to classics like the Beatles, Bowie, The Doors while sitting on the back porch taking in the incredible view of the canal. Bonus was the most efficient washer dryer I used during my 3 week stay in Europe and the large dishwasher. Had we stayed longer, we would have cooked, there was a fully stocked Chefs kitchen. Thanks for the perfect end to our adventure!

Very cozy houseboat with extensive amenities, uncomplicated use of a skiff to explore the beautiful lake area. Very nice hosts. Town with shopping and some restaurants a few km away. A wonderful short break.

Great house boat which was well equipped on the outskirts of the city centre with good transport links into the city, the Nova team were quick to respond to any questions/queries we had and would absolutely recommend to others. Thankyou Nova Team

We had a great time staying at the houseboat. It‘s a fun experience to be right on the water, and centrally located to many of the city’s destinations!

Wonderful weekend spent on the Karma. Recommended. Clean and a very nice location to be. The stove did not work properly, (flame kept going out) but after some perseverance and sliding with the pits, it worked fine. We also missed a cheese slicer and some dish soap. That was the only thing, otherwise excellent. There were fresh eggs ready at hatching, clean bedding and towels. Totally super. 😊

It’s no surprise that this is booked solid. I’m not sure how we found two nights available but I’m so glad!!! I would live here! Spacious, comfortable, charming. Love the neighborhood!! Don’t wait to grab the availability if it’s there. You will not regret it.
