By car, you'll find: - In 5 minutes, Guincho beach, very popular surfing (with surf schools); - In 10 min., Cascais, charming little village full of restaurants, stores and bars that cater to all tastes and needs; - In 15 min., Sintra, Unesco World Heritage Site, one of the best places to visit, especially the 'old village' and Palaces (Palácio Nacional da Pena, Palácio Nacional de Sintra, among others). - In 30 min., Lisbon. You can use the highway (A5 Cascais-Lisboa) or you can go by train from Cascais. Once in the city, you can use the subway. The Shelter is rented for a minimum of 3 nights. The Pool House is a self-contained 2 bedroom house, with its own private pool at the top of Malveira da Serra bordering the Sintra National Park in a very quiet and peaceful area with amazing views over the Cascais coast. Outdoor activities include hill walking, trail running, mountain biking, and bouldering, to world class surfing, windsurfing, and wild swimming all along the coast. A car is useful, but not essential, the local beaches and Cascais can all be reached by off-road tracks.
