The space
Modern art breaks out of the gallery at this classic Saint-Tropez villa with a little something contemporary added. The home is a near-seamless pairing of an older property and newer addition, flanked by a pool house and filled with a playful collection of sculpture and painting. Drive a few minutes into town to stroll cobblestoned streets or have a drink with the jet set at a waterfront cafe.
Tall hedges enclose a wide backyard with plenty of loungers and daybeds set out around the pool. There’s an alfresco dining area on the terrace just off the house, and a second one in the pool house, whose glass walls can be folded back to let the breeze flow through. Cap off a day at the beach or in town with a soak in the rooftop hot tub or a family movie night in the home theater.
Sculptures—some life-size—dot the open-concept living area, so there’s always a work within eyesight as you perch on a sofa or catch up over drinks. Flat-fronted cabinetry is a sleek backdrop for the art in the dining room, and continues in the fully equipped kitchen.
