Family-friendly holiday rentals in Lithgow

Third time I've been here, this time in the middle of winter and we loved it just as much! Perfectly picturesque amidst the snowfall with the fire roaring

We had a wonderful stay at this charming sandstone cottage in Kurrajong. The house is spacious and surrounded by peaceful bushland, with lovely walking trails and a great campfire spot. We especially enjoyed the unique cowboy and vintage memorabilia that gave the place so much character. The kitchen was very well equipped, allowing us to cook hearty meals and really make the space feel like home. On our last night, we ended the trip perfectly with a cozy campfire and roasted veggies under the stars. A beautiful, remote getaway—perfect for the Easter long weekend and a much-needed escape from the busy city life.

Another wonderful stay at Paige and Blake’s place. Check in was a breeze and the cabin and newly renovated additional cabin were beautiful. Even in winter we spent most of our time either on the pontoon on the lake or enjoying a wine on the lower balcony in the sunshine. Our evenings were spent toasting marshmallows over the fire and playing board games which we found in the property. One of the greatest things about the property is the fact we are able to bring our dog to enjoy the wonderful outdoor space. We will no doubt be back again when our family from the U.K. come to visit.

Wow! What a view. Private location. Well equipped property. Good heating for the cold weather. Close to everything. Very enjoyable weekend.

Spacious house located just a 4-minute drive from Ingleburn town centre, with direct train access to the airport and Opera House. Great value for money and ideal for a short stay around Sydney.

We loved our short stay. It was peaceful and quiet with a great view. The cabin was cosy and comfortable. Great location, quick drive to cafes, restaurants and shops. We enjoyed a day trip to Kangara-Boyd National Park and came home for a warm spa bath! Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back!

We absolutely loved our long weekend at the barn in Windsor! It's such a quaint little town, and the barn was the perfect hideaway for relaxing and reading. We especially enjoyed the ready-to-use sauna and spa. The beds were comfy - though those steep stairs were quite the workout! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily come back.

Excellent location, only a short drive from centre of Katoomba and Scenic World. Check in process was simple, and the whole place was spotless and clean. Highly recommend!

We had a beautiful weekend away at Cox’s cottage. It was so quiet and the views, especially at sunset, were unreal. It was a great escape from the city to unwind for a few days! The cottage itself is so charming and Jeremy and Annette were very responsive.

The cozy cabin was lovely for weekend away in winter. Clean and well maintained. Information provided by the host was clear and helpful.

We had a great time despite rain. It is a beautiful area and John and Ragna have done up the house so well, it's lovely.

We really enjoyed our winter stay in The Nook. The cottage is quite old and has retained lots of original features. Despite the near freezing weather, we remained nice and warm with the log fire and numerous heaters around the place. We will return in warmer months, so we can enjoy the garden a bit more with its amazing views.

Nick's place is a veritable treasure trove of a life well lived, and we were glad to be able to spend the weekend in his space. The photos do not quite accurately capture all the quaint details of the studio, from the bookshelf of assorted DVDs to full on photo albums of this man's incredible physical achievements. The spaces around the property are carefully curated to display the full extent of his character. From a strategic point of view, Nick's Place is close to the Valley of the Dinosaurs walk (highly recommend) and if you bring a bicycle like I did right on a great route to Rylstone and back through the valley. Insulation is naturally quite drafty but the fireplace was a welcome addition - more importantly were the electric blankets in the beds which made sleeping a dream. We could not recommend this place more if you're road-tripping up from Sydney.

Koonje is just delightful on all levels. The location looking over the valley is magical and the cottage itself is a beautifully decorated, warm inviting haven. Michael and his family have created a wonderfully eclectic style, true to the traditions of the Blue Mountains yet with every modern comfort. The bathrooms are a real pleasure and the spacious kitchen is incredibly well equipped for cooking if you feel so inclined. Despite the winter weather we spent time outside enjoying the beautifully landscaped garden but loved lighting the fire at night. We will certainly book again.

Leesa’s place was just fabulous. So comfortable, well equipped, extremely spacious, great amenities, air conditioned and having use of the swimming pool was fabulous on those hot days! We would highly recommend staying here and would definitely book again in the future when next back in Bathurst.

This stay is by far one of the best Air B&B stays I’ve ever had. Went for a peaceful getaway and it was perfect. Andy was the most attentive host and his property was beyond beautiful and pristine. How he keeps the entire 3 acres this perfect is beyond me. The location, on the edge of a huge gorge had the best views ever! We enjoyed his stunning rock pool that looked like it was cut straight out of the natural, huge rock formations in the area. We ate outside almost every night in the beautiful garden area. Even made a small bonfire and just enjoyed the night. I cannot recommend Andy’s cottages more. We will for sure be back soon!

Kyle was really helpful upon check in. The house was clean, quiet and comfortable. A great location to explore the blue mountains main attractions, Oberon area or to relax. We were two families with 4 kids total and the house was large enough for each family to have their own space. Kyle was so helpful returning a favourite toy to our son. We can’t be more thankful. Thanks for a great weekend.

Amy's house was perfect for us. We had a family gathering and the kitchen, bedrooms, central areas and out door covered area were great. The location was really convenient for bush walking, cafes, scenic world, Echo Point. Once again it suited us extremely well.

We stayed at Madison Mountain Retreat for one night, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anne was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The highlight was of course the alpacas, Anne invited us to the feedings and answered all our questions about these sweet animals. We even had the chance to see a baby born just 20 minutes beforehand, very cute. Let’s not forget the goats, also cute. Our kid loved it. The cottage itself was comfortable, as described, and we managed to squeeze in a swim at the pool. Would recommend, thanks Anne :)

Gary's home provides a peaceful and private place to relax. The bedroom has a lovely view looking out towards the city and the kitchen is well equipped. The location in Mount Riverview serves as a perfect base camp to head farther into the mountains while still being close enough to options for food and shopping in Penrith.
