Epic Views of the Green Mountains

Luxurious bohemian style overlooking one of the most epic views in the Green Mountains. Surrounded by 25,000 acres of National Forest and complete seclusion, yet just a short ride from several towns. Spacious, immaculate, modern home with rustic beams and gorgeous wood floors. Each of the three bedrooms (and baths!) have a wonderful view. The master bedroom is massive and has sweeping views out over the Battell Wilderness and the Long Trail. The front of the cottage is a wall of windows overlooking a beautiful pond and the Green Mountain National Forest. No light pollution. No noise except for the tree frogs and the sound of the White River rushing over the rocks far below in the hollow. It's worth mentioning that Breadloaf Mountain Cottage was a gift that I am grateful for. I still can't believe that I am so lucky to be able to enjoy it frequently. Please understand that those sweeping, epic views you see all around you when you are there, come at a price. Being perched atop a mountain in the wilderness has obvious benefits, but due to frequently changing weather, access and utilties are sometimes a bit more tricky than something in town. Please be prepared to be patient with the weather and the WIFI. While my internet is as good as anywhere in Vermont, it is a rural network and is likely more quirky than urban or suburban utilities. I have a 20mbps service. Breadloaf Mountain Cottage is at the top of a ridge that runs parallel to scenic Route 100. It sits at about 1600 feet above sea level. While completely secluded, it is just 1.3 mile to the Granville Store, and just a few minutes more to Hancock, Rochester and Warren. You could spend weeks just exploring the hiking, biking, swimming and fishing opportunities right from the property! Breadloaf Mountain Cottage is located on Forest Road 55, just off scenic Route 100. While it is easily accessible year round, a 4X4 or AWD vehicle is highly recommended in snow and mud. Quality AT or snow rated tires are a must in the winter. This is true generally in Vermont. Come prepared.

weekend family trip for 6 of us and our dog(4 adults and 2 kids), plenty of space for everyone, and much larger than I expected! we enjoyed cooking in the well stocked kitchen, playing board games on the large dining room table, swimming in the pool and soaking in the hot tub, wrapping the nights up with a movie on their Roku TV! Kristin was very responsive in her communication, we had a lovely time and would love to plan future trips here again!

Thank you for being so accommodating with our schedule and a special thanks to Mitchell for going the extra mile to snow blow a waking path for me and the dogs to keep our daily routine of visiting the horses, after the last storm brought over 13” of snow. This was my second stay at Tom's place at Sugarbush. Location is top notch. Well situated on the mountain. Ski on Ski off (short walk to the trail) but walkable, even with kids. Its a great location nearby a few restaurants and Mountainside Ski Shop. Parking is easy. Loading in & out very easy. Its very comfortable, clean, and the kitchen is well stocked with anything you'll need to cook while you're there. Bonus, upstairs bedroom window has a great view of the mountain. I would gladly stay there again & again.

Carl's place was wonderful. It was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Communication was also great and Carl went completely out of his way to be sure we could use the fireplace. And he even dropped off extra newspapers etc to help us start the fire! Thank you for a great stay. Oh and there's a beautiful view of Stowe through an open field - sadly we didn't get to see this until the very last day but it was spectacular!

We loved staying at this cozy condo. We were able to find it easily and get inside without any issues. The bed was the best we’ve encountered in an Airbnb! A beautiful condo, exactly as you see in the pictures. The loft layout makes it possible to work/hangout while someone is sleeping upstairs. The location is perfect. Steps away from the ski school and everything else. Cara is very responsive and friendly. The building is also very clean with a common area at the basement, ski lockers and laundry. Cant wait to come again next year!
