Pilam is a very special place, located on the outskirts of Xico. It is the tip of a mountain, covering an area of 40,000 m2. With a view and private access to a natural waterfall of 20 m/height called La Brisa, and another that on the shores of our space is born, this is called "La Campana" of approximately 50 m/height where sports such as rappelling and zip lining are developed. It has a canyon made of volcanic stones, which with other peaks forms a vertical garden, with a variety of prehistoric plants.

Camino del Agua Eco-Cabin: Natural Xico

We loved our stay. It was as expected directly in the rain forest. The house is spacious, airy and very nicely designed. All windows are facing the forest. There are plenty of trails on the large property, which is a former pasture turned into forest again. Of course being so close to nature has some drawbacks as no fridge, or cell reception (you have to walk a few steps) and having to make a fire for warm water. Getting into town is a 60 min scenic hike, but getting back is better by taxi. The access road is rough so it might be the better option to get back. We recommend to stay more than one night. Ruben is a great host, incredibly friendly and helpful. It felt great to relax in nature and to support the local reforestation efforts at the same. If you are looking for creature comforts this might not be the place for you but if you love nature it will not get much better. We will be visiting again if we have a chance.

Excellent experience in Miguel's cabin, it is a very quiet place to disconnect, it is located next to the river so you can enjoy nature more. The host was attentive all the time of the arrival at the place and that we did not lack anything. My recommendation is to take a blanket as it cools in the morning, and hand lamps to be able to walk in the evening as there are only a couple of lights to light inside the cabin.
