Join a local architect for a 3.4-kilometer (2-mile) walking tour of some of Toronto’s most famous signs, from flashy neon signs to unique street signs. We’ll discuss how local laws and Special Sign Districts influence the look and feel of the city you see around you. • We’ll start by visiting two recently restored neon signs that adorn historic music venues and learn about the famous acts who performed there. • Next, we'll explore Chinatown and discuss the distinctive style of signs that have come to define this neighbourhood. • We'll continue along Dundas Street where you'll spot some smaller signs off the beaten path and hear about the colourful stories behind them. • Then, we’ll wander down to Nathan Phillips Square, where you'll have the opportunity to take a photo with the iconic TORONTO sign and learn how it came to be. After picking you up at your downtown core Toronto Airbnb, or other convenient location, we will start your adventure to Niagara Falls. Along the way we will stop at picturesque waterfalls, an iconic Canadian cafe chain, and an award-winning winery. During short walks along tree lined paths at these smaller falls, you’ll learn about the geology of the area followed by a stop at a coffee shop chain that has become part of the Canadian identity. Then, we’ll hop in the car and continue to Niagara's wine region, where we will stop for a tasting (including ICE wine) at one of Niagara Regions most award-winning wineries. After a delicious sit-down lunch, we go to the world-famous Niagara Falls where you will bathe in the mist from the Falls as we walk along the rim of the Niagara Gorge. We will have more than enough time for guests to participate in one of these optional self-led activities: the historic Niagara Boat Cruise (April to November) or The Journey Behind the Falls when the boat is not available (December to April) Following our visit to the upper edge of the mighty Horseshoe Falls we will return direct to Toronto. A small apartment in the heart of Leslieville, one is welcome to come by with their dining partner/ partners (max 6 people) and as I walk you down a gastronomic tour of my culinary experiences from learning how to make a simple bisque from my father at his restaurant to therein working at Michelin starred kitchen in London at a tender age etc. The evening dishes are mostly driven through the dogma of being aware of seasonality and produce and above all technical skills. Every menu is created the morning of the dining experience. Moreover for the curious of hearts, I would be cooking and baking dishes, giving you a true peek into the world of fine dining in top kitchens. All this is in an evening's worth of time spent leisurely drinking and eating delicious meal in great company and hopefully the best story to tell in the forseeable future. There are other guests from around the world, that may join the table. A private table is accessible via the “book for a private group” option. Important note:- Unfortunately no dietary restriction can be honoured, unless it is a debilitating condition such as a nut allergy. Using real sterling silver, tiny saws, hammers, and fire, you'll create your very own ring. I'll teach you how to measure, cut, solder, bend, file, and polish your custom creation. You can also texturize or letter stamp it to make it truly one of a kind. You'll leave wearing your new ring with a sense of great accomplishment and the perfect souvenir.
