Walking into Neil Watson’s Writer’s Retreat felt like visiting the house of good friends. Suffused with character, spectacular music and DVD collections, an eclectic library, and all the modern conveniences wrapped in classic rustic French atmosphere, the only thing lacking might have been a cat or two. The village is spectacularly lovely, nestled in the Languedoc region, famous for its wine. The retreat itself is a couple of minutes walking distance from four excellent restaurants, Adrian’s amazing wine shop, and a lovely village grocery store. Neil's walking maps were great. Vive la France!

I thoroughly recommend this place, although AJAC village has little to offer it is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Limoux is only 4.5km away. Lawrence is both helpful and friendly and the accommodation was very good. I would certainly stay again.

We had a great stay at Benedict’s house. The house was charming and in a lovely location in the town. The views from the roof terrace were beautiful and the kids loved taking a dip in the pool at the end of the day. Benedict was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to any questions and very generous with everything in the house.

I was attending a wedding at the Chateau in Pennautier over two nights for which Kaaren's place was brilliantly located. In the beautiful quiet streets of the old town it was just a couple of minutes walk from the Chateau. Check in and out was a breeze and Iain was very friendly and helpful when I arrived. The place was clean and tidy and had everything I needed (and more!) and was a lovely base.

House as advertised, comfortable, pleasant, quietly located and 10 minutes from Ax-les-Thermes by car. Mr. Faletti responds quickly for the rare times we contacted him since everything went very well during our stay! Of course we recommend this place for anyone who wants to spend a family vacation.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the house. Very quirky, everything you need and the location was handy for enjoying the live evening entertainment in the centre of town. We had no trouble parking anywhere. We would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay. The location is so convenient for the main square. Pierre was very helpful in suggesting things to do with our 3 year old. We had a slight issue with the bathroom but Pierre got it fixed straight away at no inconvenience to us. Very happy and would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house and perfect location for quite French village escape. Lovely host,very welcoming and accommodating even happy to share loaf of bread as we arrived late😊

We had a great time at Joelle's place. The house is really beautiful and tastefully furnished, it feels like home. In addition, the beds are extremely comfortable and the environment is very quiet. As for Joelle, she is a responsive and very understanding host. We'll be happy to go back.

Located in the heart of the village, the house is very functional. The mountain walks are beautiful around Aulus-les-bains.

Highly recommended! The place is lovely and clean with all required amenities for a great holiday. The house is distributed over 3 floors with plenty of space. We enjoyed the proximity of the slopes. Great hosts :)

Very pleasant welcome, the accommodation is very clean and really well equipped. Many products are made available to tenants. We stayed there with a baby, again all the equipment was available which is very appreciable. Thank you to our hosts for this beautiful accommodation, renovated with taste, and their friendly welcome.

We had a very nice stay in Ax les Thermes. The accommodation is in the center so convenient to enjoy the terraces and walks from Ax. The accommodation remained cool despite the 30 degrees. The small courtyard is nice for eating outside.

Donna was a wonderful host and her place is charming and ancient and delightful. The kitchen has everything you need. The beds are comfy, as is the living room. The two toilets are handy and the shower quaint. The place is full of character. Granes is in a flat valley, but not far from it to the south west is a beautiful town perched on a hill, and beyond that the bustling Qullan, and beyond that are canyons and the mountainous Pyrenees. Then not far from it to the north east is Rennes Les Bains with wonderful hot springs and Rennes le Chateau with its mystery, and south east is the beautiful mountain of Bugarach. Cathar country and castles are all around. We'd recommend having a real paper map rather than just rely on google maps which often thinks unpassable tracks are roads!

A great weekend with the family in this pretty house with a lot of charm, also a lot of space for a stay with family or friends 🙏 Eric is available 24/7 as needed and that's great 👍 This house has a lot of potential and that's why we'll come back without any problems. 😃 The little extra is Lola, the little cat of the house. 🏠🐈‍⬛ She is very affectionate and will surely follow you throughout the house or garden. 🪴 Thanks again! We enjoyed a fantastic stay in Carcassonne, the house was ideal for us and we enjoyed walking into the centre along the river, with a small play area for our three year old daughter towards the end of the route. There was a good bakery within a couple of minutes walk from the house and we found the local area to always be clean and fairly quiet, especially at night. We enjoyed a dip in the pool each day which was lovely once the initial chill wore off, perfect in hot weather. Ja was an excellent host and we look forward to returning some day.

We had a good time at Philippe's cottage. Clean, comfortable, well equipped house. No need to bring the bed sheets and towels. We were able to park in front of the house which is rare in Fontpédrouse. I recommend it with my eyes closed. 🤗

Very pleasant stay at Sophie's. Responsive and available host. Atypical house with all its little nooks. Extremely well equipped for toddlers. The cottages are beautiful. Air-conditioned accommodation as shown in the description except for the two bedrooms on the second floor. Under the attic in the heat wave it was very hot. Fortunately, the property is also equipped with several fans. Thank you for your attention. Pool can be a little small when all the beds are busy (15 people in our case). it didn't stop us from enjoying it. Small plus much appreciated: 2 welcome baskets well stocked for everyone's enjoyment
