Naima's place was the perfect place to stay before heading to Moheli. If I hadn't already booked a place upon return, I would have stayed with her for my entire time on Grand Comore. Her place is north of the city in Itsandra, but walkable to downtown or a quick, easy, and cheap taxi ride away. The beach is right by her place, and the neighborhood is safe and friendly. Her home is spacious and airy, the bedroom has a lock, screens on the windows, and a very good mosquito net. Naima's cooking is excellent, especially her homemade spicy pickled condiment and fresh juices. If you can arrange to have her cook for you, do so! She is also extremely helpful in providing information. Her English is limited, but she understands a lot, and we got along just fine. She even had a family member who spoke excellent English speak to me to be sure everything was okay. She met me at the airport with beautiful flowers as well, which was so kind. If (when!) I return, I will stay with Naima again :)

We enjoyed our stay. Really clean and tidy. Comfortable bed. Electricity and A/C worked great, only went out once but was quickly fixed. It's about 30 minutes walking to the harbor and about 20 minutes to Volo-Volo market. Kitchen does lack some basic utensils for cooking a proper meal, but enough to make tea and coffee. Nice with a refrigerator though! Super responsive host eventhough he wasn't on site. Overall comfortable and would recommend.

Ma Cabane,20 meters from the sea was built with beautiful artistic details and much care for the environment.Ideal site for lovers of nature, birds and views of the bay.The site has been planned with ecology in mind.The respect of nature is my primordial concern hence the dry toilets,the organic garden,the solar power in 220V.Don't forget to lounge in the hammock.
