Cottage holiday rentals in Buckhorn

My friends and I had the most wonderful girls' trip at Darlene's cottage this past weekend. The space was spotless, cozy, and very well stocked with all the necessities and beyond. We especially enjoyed the unique game room and the hot tub. Darlene even left us a s'mores kit, a bottle of wine, and a lovely note to welcome us! We highly recommend. 😊

Wait.. there is no option for 6 stars!?! Wow, where to begin!?! From check-in to check-out, our group had a fantastic time. Our host was super friendly and easy to connect with at all times. Our group had 8; 6 adults, a teen & a child. Everyone was entertained at all times from the karaoke machine, the games, the hot tub, the firepit, the kayaks & canoes, the swimming, and the stairway to haven, which was truly breathtaking taking!!! The town of Halliburton was a short 10 minutes away where we enjoyed some shopping, lunch & coffee. We were celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary; 78 & 73 years young and they rocked that staircase several times! We frequent Air B N Bs often and this is by far my new favourite. There is already talk of a return visit in the future. Highland Bliss is gourgeous, loaded with all the amenities, is spotless, super comfortable and my family is so thankful to Marcia for allowing us to visit her beautiful space and create lasting memories!

from the moment we arrived we knew we had found a gem. from.the clear communication to the immaculate cottage with gorgeous views and crystal clean hot tub, we were sold !!! Highly recommend!!! will be back as soon as we are able .

Heather’s cottage was amazing! Able to accommodate a group of guests without squishing or being in anyone’s way! A couple little insects wanted to join our weekend but nothing a paper towel and a double wipe with some all purpose cleaner couldn’t beat! After all it is a cottage! Amazing large space (especially that sunroom!) with lots of amenities (the hot tub, chrome cast, indoor speakers and pool were a BIG HIT)! Great for game nights and the sunsets were beautiful. Bunker house was also clean and very comfortable for some of guests to stay in! Overall great experience and our hosts were so nice and easy to talk to. Would recommend this cottage and would definitely book again!

Chorong was a great host! Leading up to our stay she was extremely responsive as I had a lot of questions! The house itself was stunning. Clearly it is taken care of and maintained very well. All of the beds were so comfortable. Outdoor area was a lovely space. Would definitely like to come back in the winter as I am sure the scenery is beautiful.

It is a beautiful, secluded area on Pine Lake with the back facing west (Make sure that you enjoy watching the sunsets from the living room area or the hot tub!). There was plenty of equipment by the dock for us to use and enjoy on the water. The kids enjoyed paddling and swimming in the lake. If you are looking to work remotely, the internet connection was solid as my friend decided to work. If you are looking to switch off and go analog - it rained heavily one day there, but everyone was entertained with the all of the games and puzzles that were supplied at the cottage. Our Great Pyrenees dogs enjoyed roaming the site. We had an issue with the BBQ, but with some quick messaging with Jesse, he was able to get someone out to the cottage to fix the issue. It is a bit of trek to get into the cottage by vehicle, so I recommend that you enjoy the seclusion of the site - it is worth it! However, it is easy to get into town if you need to go there. This was my second time at Rebecca's place. As always it was clean, well stocked, and so incredibly peaceful. You cannot beat the views and the walk out sandy beach. I always feel right at home there. The beds are so comfy, the couch is nap worthy, and I could sit outside in an Adirondack chair and read all day long. Thank you Rebecca for the lovely accommodations. Highly recommend!

Such an amazing time at Jakub’s cottage! The cottage matched the photos exactly and was very spacious for the large group we had. It had everything we needed inside and the outside offered what you want from a cottage. great views, lake front with easy access to the water and a nice dock. And then there was the games room, we went with 11 guys and we were entertained from the minute we woke up until we went to bed. I can’t say enough good things about this location, you won’t regret it. Finally Jakub was a great host with clear communication and offered help if we needed it. Over all my group was extremely happy with everything :)

Great place to stay while working in the area!

The house was spotless and the garden was absolutely lovely. Both we and our dog had a wonderful time during our stay. We always bring our own sheets to Airbnb stays, but we couldn’t help noticing how fresh and clean the ones here smelled — that was a really nice touch. Many of the things we brought with us were already available in the house, which made everything so convenient. Hot water was always available, which made our stay even more comfortable. The garden was peaceful, filled only with the sounds of birds and frogs — it was truly relaxing to just listen to nature. Getting away from Toronto for a few days was exactly what we needed. Before we arrived, Dylan had kindly left firewood out in the yard for us — that was such a thoughtful gesture and we really appreciated it. This was my second stay at Stephen’s place and it did not disappoint yet again! This was the perfect cabin getaway, complete with a very clean, beautiful and cozy cottage paired with so much to enjoy outside and on the water. We cannot say enough positive things about our stay and how great of a host Stephen always is!! Would definitely recommend, and I look forward to another visit in the future!

Katie and Craig's place was nothing short of impeccable. We were a family of 6 with 2 small kids and this place really felt so comfortable and cozy, that we definitely decided to make it our annual getaway. As hosts, Craig and Katie were so easy and friendly to communicate with. We missed a few things to grab from the store, but Katie was able to arrange to get us these items, which were much appreciative. The cabin is located in such a serene and spectacular location. The boat ride to and from the cabin was an experience in itself and whilst we were at the cabin there were plenty of games for the kids to be entertained with, a peaceful hammock which I personally slept on for the 2 afternoons we spent there, and finally the hot tub, canoes and peddle boats. This is a gem of a place with excellent amenities. 5 stars do not do this place justice honestly. It's 7 stars for sure!

I have stayed at over 130 AirBnBs, likely 40 of them cottages, and this may be my favourite. The effort and care put into making this property the ultimate lake experience is overwhelming. We didn't even have the chance to sit at every beautiful spot - there just weren't enough days! The beach - the dock - the lake fire pit - the hill fire pit - the deck fireplace - the gazebo with the full table and chairs - the perfect dining table overlooking the whole lake... And that's just outside. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the soaker tub sublime, and the main living room as cozy a spot as we've ever been. Our original AirBnB was not as advertised, and Tomek made his place available at 6 pm on a Friday night for the weekend. He didn't just save our weekend -- he made it better. I can't say enough good things. Book this spot. If you're looking for a cottage weekend relaxing outside, it might be the best I've ever seen. Thank you Tomek.

We had a great stay at Jonathan’s place! Everything was just as described, Jonathan was quick to respond all of our questions. The kitchen amenities were top notch, it had everything we needed to prepare all of our meals. We also really enjoyed the new bbq grill. The location was easy to find. The house has an amazing view of the lake, which is great for swimming and kayaking. I’d definitely recommend Jonathan’s place!

Daisy's home was fantastic and my group had a great time. There were various indoor games (pool table, board games) as well as outdoor activities (Kayaks, pedal boat, firepit). The house was well stocked and organized. Daisy was very responsive and easy to reach. One thing to note is that there is a good A/C unit in the main area of the house, but the rooms did get warm when the doors are closed. The town of buckhorn was only 10 minutes away which was convenient for any groceries and last minute items. Thank you again for hosting us!

PJ was a great host. We really enjoyed our time, and the fishing in the area. Great spot for a good weekends away from home. The only two issues we ran into during our stay was the kitchen tap had very little water pressure, making washing dishes a little difficult. We also ran out of propane and realized the second tank, was also empty. We did go out and purchase one to use but took it home with us. Otherwise, we had a great stay and enjoyed the place.

Bright, spacious cottage with every comfort you need. The location was great, not too far from hikes and attractions but located on a very quiet street. Loved the wood stove and used every day. The host proactively arranged plow services as there was lots of snow the weekend we stayed, which was a really nice gesture. Would definitely return!

Amazing hosts and cottage! The cottage has everything you need to enjoy your time there (especially loved the indoor gym) and you can't ask for a better location! Hosts were also very responsive with any questions we had leading up to, and during our stay. We would love to stay again in the future!

We had an amazing time, the cottage was kid friendly while still being a fun place for adults to hang out! The sauna was great, the hot tub has cool treetop views of the lake, the dock was massive and offered plenty of space to hang out. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a cottage this summer!

When selecting our holiday this year, we were looking for somewhere peaceful with a beautiful view that would allow us to recharge batteries. Patrick's home provided exactly this. The whole experience was awesome, the view spectacular. Overall the activities on the lake did not cause significant concern, the lake is big enough for jet skis but not for full motorboats. There were a few people who felt it was a great idea to just dash up and down the lake at top speed, but they soon got bored and stopped and this was, generally, only at the weekend. The rest of time the place was just serene. We were sad when it was time to go, we stayed 8 days and could have stayed 8 more.

This is a really beautiful cottage on a classic Ontario lake. Lots of pine needles on the ground, exposed rock at the water, clear water, inspiring views. The wood fired hot tub was super fun to use and made our stay extra luxurious. The barbecue is great. The gym in the garage and the ping pong table were a welcome distraction. Kitchen is pretty nice to work in, with a great dining room. There are a lot of different outdoor spaces. Nearby town of Apsley is very cute with nice shops and friendly people. We hiked the falls trail on Eel Creek which was super fun. The host was very kind and responsive. The whole area was hit with a power outage due to a storm, and they helped us navigate that whole situation (which wasn't their fault). In short we had a wonderful stay and will likely book it again!
