Nature eco lodge holiday rentals in Bastimentos Island

Ataraxia is pure magic and exceeded our expectations in every way. We rented out the whole lodge to host a yoga retreat with 12 of us total. Communication from Pierre and Manon was fantastic throughout and they took really good care of us — ready to help order us boat taxis, recommend us things to do, or answer any question at any time. The rooms and cabins were spacious, cozy and kept really clean. We had use of kayaking and snorkel gear as well, which everyone loved. At the top of the hill, the yoga shala overlooked the sea and was a wonderful place to practice and teach in. We were even able to spot a sloth and her baby a few times. Perhaps our favourite thing, though, was the food. We had 6 vegan lunches and dinners and we were sooo impressed by the variety of meals and how delicious every dish was. Being able to order a glass of wine with dinner was a nice touch, too. We loved our whole stay. We’ll be back!!

Welcome to the paradise! A small and calm resort at the far end of Bastimentos, perfectly suited to relax, disconnect (no WiFi or mobile network) and enjoy Carribean flair and nature. But beware: you'll stay in nature (open-air bungalow) and as it's really small will spend significant amount of time with the other guests, incl. the delicious meals around the large dining table. As your welcoming host Michele already states this in the description and his communication after booking, we weren't surprised - and loved it! If you don't like nature, are addicted to your social media, or don't want to socialize with other guests - better don't come ;) Seeing the price for few nights, we gasped at first. But let alone the included tasty meals and great service is worth an significant amount. Taking into account how costly it must have been to build, maintain and supply this small paradise at the remote location, it's absolutley worth it!

O Brian é muito mais que um Superhost, demonstra um cuidado e uma atenção total para com os seus convidados! O espaço é maravilhoso, um verdadeiro paraíso, o quarto é espaçoso, a zona das refeições é muito acolhedora e os arredores demonstram um cuidado e dedicação extrema! Comemos sempre muito, muito bem e só temos pena de não podermos dar uma classificação superior e diferenciadora. Já ficámos em muitos Airbnb mas este foi de longe o melhor e aquele em que o anfitrião nos acolheu como um verdadeiro amigo! Conhecemos outras pessoas muito simpáticas no local, porque o espaço promove esse convívio entre os vários hóspedes! O resto da equipa também é muito simpática, sempre com um sorriso! Um grande abraço Brian, desejamos tudo de bom para vocês!

Toller Aufenthalt. Unbedingt für Insektenspray sorgen. Wichtig für Internetsüchtige. Es gibt in den Zimmern kein Internet. Braucht man aber auch nicht bei dem Ausblick. Tolle Strände und Super Essen mit netten Gastgebern.

De kleinschalige accommodatie was heel speciaal. Heerlijke bedden, prachtig uitzicht vanaf het ruime balkon. Het ontbijt en avondeten waren heerlijk!! Genoeg te doen in de omgeving waar Manon je zeker bij wil helpen. Leuk was het om met de kano in de mangrove te varen. Manon bedankt voor jullie gastvrijheid!

This place is very special. Brian and Amy made us feel at home right away. The location of the accommodation ist very beautiful surrounded by jungle and right by the water. We saw many dolphins in the bay and had a great snorkeling trip and hiked through the jungle. The food is absolutely incredible. The place was always clean and the hosts try their best to make your stay a once in a lifetime experience. This was the best place I ever stayed at and would recommend it to everyone. Thank you for everything, Brian and Amy.

Carolina and her place were wonderful! She's very helpful and responsive and the room is quite comfortable. The food, at the restaurant below the guest rooms, serves amazing food! It can be a bit noisy if you wake up later than 8am or go to bed earlier than 10pm, though. The view is amazing and because it's right off the main road, it's convenient to get a taxi into town. You will need to walk/ride/drive a bit to get to an accessible beach, but it's safe and not too far from the property. Highly recommended for shorter stays.

Carolina war eine super Gastgeberin und die Unterkunft war genauso wie beschrieben! Im Erdgeschoss gibt es noch ein super Restaurant und die Lage ist perfekt! Gerne wieder - vielen Dank :)

Increíble lugar!

Quede enamorado de este lugar, Daniel y Brian nos recibieron y nos hicieron sentir como en casa, el lodge es precioso, cada espacio esta decorado con diferentes artefactos de la region, Daniel nos cocino los mejores platillos que he probado en Bocas, y Brian los mejores cocteles, fue una experiencia involvidable y espero volver!

Vorweg muss ich sagen: es war traumhaft! Von Anfang bis zum Ende war es ein perfektes Erlebnis. Daniel und Brian sind wundervolle Menschen und Gastgeber. Was die beiden auf Bastimentos aufgebaut haben ist ein karibischer Traum. Die Unterkunft ist so liebevoll gestaltet wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt. Daniel ist ein grandioser Koch, der auf Wunsch, an 5 Tagen in der Woche, für Gäste, ein 3 Gänge Menü zaubert, Bryan verwöhnte uns mit leckeren Cocktails. Das täglich wechselnde Frühstück (3 bis 4 Gerichte zur Auswahl inkl. vegetarisch) kann besser nicht sein. Das ganze Team um die beiden war herzlich und liebevoll bemüht all unsere Fragen und Wünsche zu beantworten. Brian hat uns bei einem leckeren Cocktail so viel zur Entstehung der Lodge erzählt. Es ist wie im Paradies. Rundherum nur eine fantastische Flora und Fauna. Wenn wir wieder nach Panama kommen, ist die Lodge von Daniel und Brian unsere erste Wahl. This stay was fantastic! The hotel itself is beautiful from the hotel itself to the pool to its surroundings. Everything was all quite comfortable, and that is because of the hosts. Daniel was helpful and friendly, and made excellent suggestions for things to do nearby. The food was also delicious, and it was great to have breakfast up on a hill in the jungle and have the option to have dinner there as well. The surrounding areas were great too. There are lots of spots nearby to take a water taxi to for beach time or a good meal or a drink.

Adorei a minha estadia no maronda! A Gabi foi querida, simpática, amigável, esteve sempre disponível para nos ajudar e aconselhar, a cozinha estava sempre disponível e limpa, a praia em frente era maravilhosa, de manhã íamos dar frutas aos cavalos, os cães são muito amigáveis, só coisas boas! A propriedade é bastante sossegada e afastada mas é possível ter qualquer coisa da cidade se falarmos com a Gabi ela arranja forma de recebermos o que precisarmos assim como podemos sempre chamar um táxi. Na praia em frente, de manhã, quando a maré estava mais baixa, fazia uma espécie de lago que era ótimo para os miúdos. Gostei mesmo muito!

hermoso y tranquilo lugar, playa desertica y paradisiaca, olas grandes y salvajes, conexion pura con la naturaleza, lindo beach club enfrente mismo para almorzar y tomar unos tragos, un poco alejado del centro pero si queres una buena desconexion este es el lugar! la atencion de Kristian excelente

La estadía en MarOnda fue muy buena. Estás rodeado de naturaleza y tenés la Playa Bluff en frente, con el parador ahí mismo. Realmente disfrutamos mucho nuestros días ahí. Algo a considerar, es que queda bastante alejado de Bocas Town. Son unos 40min en taxi y sale 20/25usd. Para los que quieren estar en la playa y rodeados de naturaleza no es un problema, pero si pretendés hacer excursiones, te conviene estar mas cerca del centro.

The location is perfect. Red frog beach is amazing. Sometimes it took a while for the host to react on our message before arriving. The staff at the location was very friendly and helpfull. They took good care of us. We just didn’t wanna leave.
