Make friends at a farm animal sanctuary
Join us for a day at the sanctuary and meet a variety of rescued farmed animals. We'll share their stories of resilience and healing and also talk about the industries they come from. You'll love meeting our animal ambassadors and may be surprised at what you learn since we so rarely see the animals in our food system. The Experience will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Please be mindful that, as a sanctuary for rescued animals, our priority is the physical and emotional wellbeing of the animals who call Charlie's Acres home. Our animal residents are completely free and always have a choice whether or not they interact with visitors. They will reside at the sanctuary for the rest of their lives, where we'll have the honor of taking care of them. Add a photoshoot to this visit and capture magical moments to take home: https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/3453961 Tours are available in French or Spanish by request. Private tours are recommended for families with young kids. We operate under current Sonoma County COVID-19 safety guidelines, and protocol is subject to change. Note that we do not allow visitors to bring dogs onto the premises. The only exception is service dogs required to assist with a disability; in that case, please contact us to arrange a private tour. Love on Friendly Farm Animals
Meet the animals at La Candelaria Ranch in Petaluma. I'd like to share them with people interested in learning about them, interacting with them and showing them love. The 1-hour interactive tour begins with visiting the goats, horses, cows, and chickens. We'll be walking for through different pens and then you are free to explore for another hour or longer if you'd like. Wear mud boots during the winter. We'll be walking around the ranch where you can connect, touch and take selfies with a friendly Jersey cow named Tati, young goats, chicks, ducks, and Holstein and Scottish highland cows. This experience is a great outdoor venue for family get-togethers, kids birthday parties, adult celebrations, off-sites, anniversaries or just to get out of the city for the day. Because we are outdoors and there is a lot of space, we believe this is the perfect venue for families. Bring a picnic or snacks if you want to stay and hang out. PLEASE NOTE: NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS so plan accordingly. Thank you.

You are also welcome to bring a picnic and blanket during your stay. Your host will greet you upon arrival for a brief orientation of the grounds. After your orientation you will be invited to forage on your own and cut fresh flowers to take home. As you roam our fields and gardens you are sure to meet our lovely farm animals and other wild guests. We have chickens, cotton patch geese, dogs, cats and goats. During your visit you are also welcome to bring your own picnic and blanket. Please do not feed the animals and follow the ‘pack it in, pack it out’ rule of thumb. Guests will leave with a bucket full of flowers and full hearts. We will provide you with a bucket you can take home. Cutting shears and garden gloves are available to borrow. Enjoy Private Chef Dave in Sonoma
“I pride myself on being super easy to work with. Food should be fun and as a writer I love to talk cuisine and restaurant culture, it’s a passion of mine to create a narrative for my guests. Most of all I like to craft memories as well as dishes, let’s have a meal to remember!” They say the desert cleanses, and nothing could be more accurate. You’ll notice it as that first breeze on a dry evening, ripples the surface of the pool and the sun sets against the mountains. That is an iridescent moment of calm beyond description. It is then you are open to the experience and flavors of Sonoma. The region has its own culinary tale, one written in Spanish, English, and Arabic. From epic citrus to delicate dates, the area has cultural influences found nowhere else in California. And the rich agriculture and farms surrounding the desert environs make for transcendent local ingredients. I will arrive 90 minutes before your dining time to begin working my magic. I will show up at your doorstep equipped with every ingredient needed to prepare your meal. Feel free to put your apron on and cook some of the dishes with me! I am eager to share with you the secrets behind my recipes and local hidden treasures. Take advantage of our group discounts! ★ 10% OFF — groups from 4 to 5 guests ★ 15% OFF — from 6 guests
