We will visit the park’s largest and oldest trees, many of them hidden to the average park visitor. • Using century-old postcards and historic maps, I’ll provide a unique perspective on the history of Vancouver and its ancient forests. • You’ll see historical evidence of how First Nations used the forests, and how settlers cut down trees during the era of industrial logging. • Pause and appreciate the significance of these remarkable giant trees. I’ll explain the future of these rare giants and their ecological importance. You'll leave my walk inspired by this secluded and peaceful area of Vancouver and the centuries-old giants that reside there, and you may even forget you’re right beside a major city during the tour.

Davie Street has been the heart of Vancouver’s LGBTQ+ community for decades. Meet the designer of the LGBTQIA+ Map for a guided walk through the neighbourhood. • Start with a visit to Little Sisters Book and Art, which has survived legal challenges and bombings, and offers a great selection of reads for folks of all genders and ages. • Then we’ll meander down the street, stopping for coffee and popping into LGBTQ+-owned businesses. • Our walk will culminate with drinks at the Fountainhead Pub, one of the original gathering spots in Davie Village. You’ll receive a copy of my 2025 LGBTQIA+ Map of Vancouver, and I’ll be happy to share my recommendations for more places to shop, dine, and sightsee in town.
