Restaurant that has been serving artists, writers, culture personalities and ordinary people since 1887. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the walls are covered with fun artifacts and art. Lorry's menu includes a wide variety of classic dishes, but the place is probably most famous for its 128 kinds of beer.

Located at Frognerseteren where you have an amazing view of Oslo. Take metro line 1 Frognerseteren to the final station, named Frognerseteren. From the station there is a small forest road down to Frognerseteren restaurant and cafe. It is a ca 5 minute walk. The road is signposted. From there you can also go hiking.

In the summer if the weather is good, I recommend dinner or drinks at the restaurant called Festningen close to Aker Brygge. A perfect spot in the afternoon/evening sun with a beautiful view of the harbor.

Sightseeing

Holmenkollen is the hill you see on the north western side of Oslo. It takes 20-30 minutes to get here from the city centre – the view from the subway on the way up the hill is worth the trip alone! The Holmenkollen area is a gateway to Nordmarka, one of the most popular recreational areas in the city. Tryvann and Frognerseteren are great starting points for hikes and trips summer and winter alike. In addition to beautiful scenery, Oslo's top attraction is located up here; Holmenkollen Ski Museum and Ski Jump.

Oslo's Opera House is located right at the harbour, with an angled, white exterior that appears to rise from the water. It invites its visitors to climb its roof and enjoy panoramic views of Oslo and the fjord, all year round.

Parks & Nature

Vigelandsparken is one of Norway's most visited attractions. The unique sculpture park is the life work of the sculptor Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943) with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and cast iron. The bronze statue of the little Angry Boy (Sinnataggen in Norwegian) is among the most famous sculptures, along with the Monolith (Monolitten). The park is about 20 minutes walk from the apartment.
