Tips from locals
This market has a lovely selection of local stalls, including two fantastic vegetable sellers, a cheese/eggs seller and a shop selling the best hummus in Brighton! Great to stock up on groceries in an environmentally friendly (packaging free) way!
Fishmonger is excellent, also good stalls for vegetables, cheese and dairy. Antiques market there once a month.
Brighton Open Market is close to the flat, and is a bustling covered street market where you can pick up local fruit, veg, eggs, fish, whatever. Loads of local favourites here, Smorl's sells the best houmous around, and the Gozleme stall is an amazing deal at £3.
Breezy marketplace with covered stalls selling local produce, clothes & crafts amid cafes & shops.
this is not a venue to rush to... but it is the last strong hold of ungentrified Brighton. if you want to buy food or eat something good, have a wonder along the london road. Charity shops galore and then the market
