A wind down in town. Sitting soaking in the pools is great. Unless you are wanting a romantic occassion just pay for the regular adult admission.

You can enjoy these in the cool evening air which I find is the best time, avoid 6-7pm due to groups. The most popular side is the Pavilion pools, or you have the option to book a private pool also. There are acidic and alkaline pools, all outside at varying temperatures fed by the sacred Rachel…

History Museum
“Te Puia spans 70 hectares within the historic Te Whakarewarewa Valley, on the edge of town. It is the home to the world famous Pohutu geyser, to mud pools, hot springs, to silica formations to the Kiwi bird and the national schools of wood carving, weaving, stone and bone carving. Te Puia shared these treasures with manuhiri (visitors) for 170 years and proudly continue that legacy today.”

Restaurant
“Capers Epicurean is one of Rotorua’s most popular cafes. It’s been wowing its patrons with great food and coffee for over a decade and even won the Best Regional Cafe category at the 2017 New Zealand Cafe of the Year Award. Part of Capers’ appeal is that it’s open until 9 p.m. — making it an ideal pit-stop for the famished night owls who are yearning for a late caffeine fix.”
