Discover Praça da Ribeira and the surrounding streets. This neighborhood is the most emblematic and the heart of the historic center of Porto. Don't just visit the pier, also get lost in the alleys that lead to Escadas do Barredo to discover the authenticity of this neighborhood.

Ribeira is a very charming neighborhood with a strategic location. In it are located some of the most important monuments in Porto such as the St. Francis church and the Stock Exchange Palace, but it is also walking distance from Luiz I bridge and, more importantly, the famous Port wine lodges. However, it is very touristy (aka it is always crowded) and it is impossible to park there (an important factor to consider if you are renting a car in Porto).

Ribeira Square, set on the banks of the River Douro, the Ribeira is Porto’s oldest quarter. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the district’s maze of alleyways and pastel-colored houses rises up on a hill above the bay, lined with restaurants, bars, and cafés, a popular leisure hub and nightlife destination.
