Tips from locals
There are a number of ways you can get onto the nature reserve, we find the easiest is to access it via Brookburn rd, just off from Beech rd. This is a great place to wonder along the river Ees which joins up with the River Mersey. Great place to go for a jog or walk with the dog.
Perfect for dog walking or just getting into nature. Easy to get lost if you have no sense of direction! It's abit of countryside within the city.
Between here and Liverpool, the River Mersey changes considerably. Look out for Herons, and other wildlife, but mostly joggers, and people walking dogs!
A great place to walk around if you want to drop out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Walk down the River Mersey to Jacksons boat pub for a rewarding pint.
