On Indian lands in Palm Springs, on the southside of 111, this is really worth the visit. Usually a creek is flowing through the indigenous palm Forest. The drive to this is about an hour with traffic to the very western edge of Palm Springs

Lots of trails for hiking and horseback riding of all levels. Very scenic especially if you've never been to the desert before! Located in Palm Springs, about a 30 minute drive. Can eat lunch in Palm Springs after!

The Indian Canyons are incredible, and depending upon the time of year a desert oasis complete with waterfalls, running water, blooming cactus and desert views. The hiking is incredible. Plenty of places to picnic. Bring lots of water and a map.
