Why locals recommend it
Bedecked with cycling paraphernalia, this spacious cafe is also partly a bike workshop. It does great salads and cakes and is as popular with freelancers as it is with people getting their bike fixed out back. Though be warned that they switch off wifi during busy times and limit laptop users to bar areas. Need a screen break? Take the chance to stroll down Old Street to explore the historic St Luke’s a minute away. The magnificent Hawksmoor church puts on many concerts by the London Symphony Orchestra.

“East Ham / Manor Park has some amazing local Indian restaurants. Much beloved by the locals and not particularly fancy to look at, but the food is good, plentiful and cheap. You'll pay a lot more for the same food somewhere more central. This is one such secret spot us locals love! ”
