Tips from locals
The major airport for Orlando, this is a busy spot. It can feel quite large, especially if you arrive tired off of a long flight. Transiting through the airport, though, is usually quick and efficient. Security clearance can get busy, like many airports now, otherwise it's a straightforward gateway…
Keep in mind that most times, the lines are long to get to the car rental counters
On your return, allow extra time for this airport. It is the worst congestion I've ever seen, there isn't even a priority lane for frequent travelers/first class. The commute is about 1:40.
Pick up your car at the airport, so you don't have to worry when its time to go home!
MCO tends to have the best rental car rates, so if you want to explore, pick one up when you arrive. If you need a car later in your stay, you can hire an Uber or Lyft to take you back the airport for low fee.
