Jane Austen novels still make an excellent read even 200 years after her death. To celebrate this, Parade Gardens have constructed a commemorative flowerbed, designed to look like an open book and quill. It's quite a sight. Enjoy the flowerbed from the Grand Parade or enter the gardens and relax…

Non-resident entrance fee, £1. Nice to chill in deckchairs. Award winning Gardens, but display could also be viewed from the top, without entering.

Beautifully kept gardens on the Avon which you pay to get into to but thats to deter undesirables to keep the gardens a safe place to hang out. Perfect for picnics, deck chairs in the summer.

“A village gastro pub, the Pelly, as it's fondly referred to by locals, is set in the centre of Chew Magna. This well loved pub boasts good food and wine and an even better selection of Butcombe beers on the bar. Come rain or shine, you can choose from cosy log fires or the stunning sun trap to while away your hours with friends and loved ones.”
