Oxford is a city which was built on a ford of the River Thames. It is famous for its university which is based on a colegiate system...ie 30+ independent colleges all affliated to the University. Buildings date from the 13th Century. It is a short walk from Woodman Court over the river at Magdalen Bridge past the Botanical Gardens and Magdalen College down the High Street fronted by many of the oldest colleges.
