St Ann’s Well Gardens is 1 minute north; a wide range of native and exotic trees with well-established plants and park areas with a charming Garden Café that serves food, wine and beer. Breakfast from 9 a.m.

Peaceful park just around the corner, hosts a mini-festival in May and some Festival & Fringe events. Nice escape from the bustle of Brighton and Hove.

Café
“This, quieter, end of the beach is our favourite spot for swimming and picnic lunches or suppers on milder days. There's a cafe that does great cheese toasted sandwiches and public loos on the seafront near the cafe which can be useful! Head for the dog-friendly beach here if you've a canine companion - or enjoy swimming with dogs (we love it!).”

Restaurant
“(Church road) At the end of the road is a gem of a restaurant serving ‘fancy’ Thai food. It’s a bit pricey in the evening but worth it. However we enjoy their unusual Thai Tapas lunch menu which is half the price and delicious. The Giggling squid restaurant down the road is the more famous Thai in Hove and also great but a little further to walk. ”
