The bishop of Pentapolis, Nektarios, built the monastery between 1904 and 1910 and he dedicated it to the Trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit existing as one God). The holy man lived there and died in 1920. Later, in 1961, he was canonized. Saint Nektarios is the most recent Greek Orthodox saint and one of the most miracle-working saints of the Orthodox Christian faith. His remains are preserved in the feminine monastery of the Trinity, where people can visit his room and his grave, too. The new church of Saint Nektarios, next to the old monastery, is one of the biggest churches in the Balkan Peninsula

AGIOS NEKTARIOS MONASTERY. Agios Nektarios is our local Patron Saint. The monastery is located 6km from the port, 11km from the villa. Highly recomended for religion tourism
