Tips from locals
Roses Bakery is also further north on Prune Alley and has amazing bread, cheeses, olives and cured meats as well as other gourmet foods. They also have an extensive wine selection. They also have a wonderful cafe, call for hours
Beautiful food. my Breakfast and/or Lunch recommendation. Our old Orcas fire house, converted into a modern restaurant. Extended wine selection and knowledge. While you're here check out the bakery for fresh bread and choice deli treats. Stop in before your hike for all of the picnic fixings.
Roses is an Orcas favorite. Go for the bakery ( bread and pastry baked daily) and gourmet meats and cheese. The sit down cafe serves breakfast and lunch.
Can get a couple of baked eggs but it's better for pastries. For a more filling breakfast, try the Skillet.
Roses Cafe always feels like something special. It is a bit more expensive, but worth it. They have a bakery attached to the cafe that is a favorite too.

“Yeah, this is a must see. Moran State Park is the gem of Orcas Island. Hiking & bike trails, horseback riding, waterfalls, two lakes...and Mt. Constitution- the highest peak in the San Juan Islands. Drive up and admire the view then take a walk around Cascade lake. Swim in the summer. Play area for kids and plenty of picnic spots. Daily fee to park or use your Discover Pass.”
