Less well known but I think a better view of SF than Twin Peaks. When clear you have a 280˚ view west to the ocean, north to Marin and the Golden Gate Bridge and east to down town

Food shopping on Taraval Street between 14th Ave. and 19th ave has Safeway grocery, Parkside Market for produce and Guerra's quality meats is a must for excellent meats. (Go early. Can be quite busy on weekends.)

Getting Around
10 - 15 minute walk from our house to the Muni transit line will take you most any where you want to go in SF
#6 Muni Bus line is 2 block from our house at Quintara and 14th Ave. It is the end of the bus line so you can't go in the wrong direction. Will take you to downtown SF in 35 min.

Marin headlands, check maps, has so much area to hike, go to beach or redwoods. The further west you go the less people you run into. On weekends try to get an early start. Say latest 9:30 because the traffic getting out the city across the Golden Gate bridge can be very frustrating.
