Food Scene

Wonderful People watching in Beachwood Canyon. Just a good realisable coffee shop with treats, food and gifts for others. That whole area of the hills is really interesting, and near another park - Bronson Canyon Park

Amazing breakfast. Can be a line, but you can also get a spot at the counter. Green Tea Monster Pancakes with Mascarpone!! Very good coffee as well. This place is in a shopping mall with a Starbucks, grocery store and Bank of America, and you can look out at the mountains and blue sky!

Very close. Also delivers ($25 minimum) Good Japanese Fusion. I like the salmon skin salad, and the vegetable tempura. They also have very good sushi rolls.

Shopping

Great area for thrift stores, little coffee shops and all sorts of throwback kind of stores from it seems 50's , 60's, 70's.... love this quiet area that doesn't feel like modern LA. Many parts of the valley are like this.

Essentials

Fed Ex, post office, Trader Joes, Vons, most banks..... tons of parking at every store/location I would suggest Studio City as well, but Toluca Lake is sleepier with less traffic. Good local feel in the community.

Wonderful neighborhood for easy shopping and parking, post office, groceries, banks, great restaurants. 2 miles north. Right now feels very 1940's which is kind of nice as the city develops so much else.

Parks & Nature

This is a dog park and has stunning views of LA. Its the beautiful people trail in central LA.. Very iconic. Its close enough to walk but you may also want to drive and focus on the hike itself. There is an entrance off Mulholland at the top, 1/2 mile away. Start up here, not at Fuller.
