Magical walks on either side of the Teign valley. The clear waters bubbling over rocks make it the perfect place to have a splash around. Also a wonderful pub next to the bridge makes the perfect start or end to an energetic hike or simply a place to sit and enjoy the history of the beautiful bridge and valley.

A pub that positively oozes history- there are connections from Neolithic man through to Dad’s Army. We always enjoy the slightly disparaging attitude they take towards one of the pillars as being ‘only’ Roman!! The food and beer are absolutely first class.

On the outskirts of our local town Chagford, Fernworthy reservoir is a wonderful place to explore. The circular walk around the water is a tranquil option if you prefer to stay off the open moor. The surrounding woodland of tall pine trees is also a very attractive walk or perfect for riding bikes along the trails.

Fantastic easy cycling/walking for young and old..... The Granite Way is an 11 mile cycle and walkway running between Okehampton and Lydford along the north western edge of Dartmoor. It is mostly traffic free, largely following the course of the former Southern Region railway line. ... For example, close to the Okehampton end of the route is Meldon Quarry.
