Neighborhoods
The stretch of South Congress (SoCo) near the home has everything you need. Restaurants, bars, coffee shops, fun and funky Austin shopping, small grocery stores, and music venues. It's a 12 or so minute walk from the house or if you want to drive there is lots of street parking, but can be busy during peak weekend and evening times. It's very safe to walk around alone and is a great way to start to explore Austin and see what the city is about.

A fun street where the older homes have been renovated and converted into bars and restaurants. You can walk there from the house, by using the pedestrian bridge across they highway. Parking is tight so if you don't want to walk, I recommend using a ride share. Crowded and energetic on weekend nights, if you are looking for a fun party spot!

Great Bar/Restaurant. Incredible selection of beers on tap as well as nice wine choices. They also sell beer and wine for take away. Their menu is Indian food with an Austin twist. Delicious!

I can't say enough good things about June's!! Great neighborhood restaurant! Delicious food (all of which is 25% off at happy hour, 4-6 pm Monday-Saturday) and excellent wine list. If you enjoy wine, ask to see their monthly originally created "wine zine" to explore some some additional options. They have a different theme for the zine every month or 2 and showcase a constantly rotating list of wines. Pro Tip - call for a dinner reservation to avoid a wait. If you are traveling alone, it's a great spot to grab a solo meal at the bar.
