This American brasserie is the first restaurant I fell in love with in Providence and is still my favorite! This is also in Wayland Square area, where you can do a little shopping.

It's a small space that fills up fast, but the food is great and well priced. Excellent Mole sauce btw. A note from the owner, who is from Puebla, Mexico: [We are] committed to offering traditional Mexican dishes at an affordable price using only the most authentic ingredients possible, often bringing in hard-to-find food products directly from Mexico. Special festive events spotlighting traditional arts and entertainment from Mexico are held throughout the year. We have a small but well curated bar, we have a select choice of the most reputable, responsibly made Tequilas and Mezcales to complement our cuisine.

Peruvian and Bolivian Cuisine, this restaurant is nationally known for a reason... it was on the Phantom Gormet, has a trip advisor certificate of excellence and was featured on Yelps top 100 restaurants 3 years in a row. If you're in town for a short stay and can only choose one place to go, go here (p.s. don't tell my love Red Stripe I said that!)

The most amazing baked goods. You'll probably go here for breakfast if anything, but if you're in the mood for some olive bread I have literally never tasted anything so good. There is also a location on Hope Street if that is more convenient to your days adventures.

One of the oldest libraries in the country, the Athenaeum is legitimately awe-inspiring. There are a lot of things in providence that will take you back in time, but this is one of the best to me, even if you're not into books. :)

Parks & Nature

This only let me tag it as the zoo, but the zoo resides in the larger Roger Williams Park, which is also great for bike riding and picnicking, and has a botanical garden, duck paddle boat rentals, museum of natural history with a planetarium and tennis courts. I'm sure I'm leaving some stuff off, so go check out their website. Also, this is right by me so you can even walk over!

Drinks & Nightlife

Great craft cocktails and ambiance, small intimate location. They serve a small curated menu which is best for snacking in style, rather than a meal, but it's a great little menu, and they serve Walrus and Carpenter oysters, which are my fave (small, with a good sweet/briny balance for those that care).
