Food Scene

Get the #9, half order with half home fries and half black beans (isn't that 9 and a quarter?)...you won't regret it. Really reasonably priced place for breakfast with lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options (don't worry, its good for carnivores too but friendly to the veggies as well).

It's the original brewery in town and a quintessential Bellingham experience. Save the ales!

Great food and drinks and in a really cool hidden spot. It's got a good mix of small share plates and really great entrees. Plus, they make their own cider (as they should given the name). A new(ish) spot in Bellingham destined to become a staple of the community.

Best tacos in town and amazing cocktails (and a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks as well for those that don't want to imbibe in the full bar). Highly highly recommend (get the three taco combo and pick your poison...ok, not poison, they are just to die for good). :)

Boulevard Park

Most visited park in Bellingham. Grab a coffee at Woods and then head out on the over-water boardwalk all the way to Fairhaven. Stop in at Village books off of the green, grab gelato at Sirena or a drink at Galloways bar and then head back (or if you are in Fairhaven in the summer on a Saturday stay for the outdoor movie). Great sunset walk since there are lights on the boardwalk too (but park on the Fairhaven side then since the park closes at dusk if you are walking after dark). This is also a great park for families. My kids love finding little crabs under the rocks on the beach, skipping stones, playing in the sand, or playing on the pirate ship themed playground. Boulevard Park is the all around win for singles, couples, and families. It really has something for everyone!
Amazing views along the whole drive, hikes, and viewpoints. Go to Larrabee state park, Teddy Bear Cove, or Woodstock Farm for a picnic and views of the nearby islands. My husband and I are partial to Woodstock Farm since we got married there. Can't beat those views!

Parks & Nature

Great views of downtown Bellingham from a historic tower. You can hike there from Western's college campus or drive to the top for the sweeping views. There is also a cool old tunnel model T's used to drive through.

Small and cute park on the water. This park is more low key and can be a great place to launch a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard. The community boat center nearby rents each of these if you are interested.
