Dog friendly
Good atmosphere, historic pub, roaring open fire in the colder months & located near the Horse Bridge in Devon which is stunning and worth a visit in its own right - it’s also the oldest (dating back to 1437) crossing over the River Tamar. Dog friendly in the bar area where you can also eat. Dogs are not allowed in the separate restaurant area. Located 2.2 miles from The Signal Box and The Sidings

If you are visiting The Signal Box or The Sidings for a special occasion, the historic Endsleigh House Hotel, designed by Jeffry Wyatt and owned and run by Olga Polizzi, is our personal recommendation for somewhere special for dinner, lunch, afternoon tea or just a cuppa or an afternoon g&t followed by a stroll around the beautiful 100 acre grounds which were designed by Sir Humphrey Repton. It’s a very special place to visit, please be aware it’s also an expensive place to eat & drink but worth it in my opinion. Dog friendly Located 4.2 miles from The Signal Box and The Sidings

I recommend The Bedford Hotel in Tavistock mainly because, if you like an afternoon cream tea and you are interested in history, this is the place to go! The Devon cream tea was invented at the Bedford hotel in the mid 1840's by the then Duchess of Bedford Anna Maria Russell. It's a nice hotel and it's quite close to the pannier market so worth visiting if planning a trip to Tavistock. It's a dog friendly hotel too.

Lovely place to visit but can be very popular and busy in season. Book ahead if you wish to eat whilst here, some lovely unique shops to browse in. A must for Doc Martin fans and photographers paradise. Park in one of the car parks at the top of the village and walk down - it's steep and winding on the journey up and down but well worth the walk. It has lovely one off shops to browse in, we love Nathan Outlaws (expensive) for very special occasion and The Mote Seafood Restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Set on a peninsular which can also be easily reached by ferry from Plymouth (Torpoint Ferry) or from the main A38 road turning off at Tideford. This beautiful unspoilt area fabulous for walking and amazing sea views all along this coastline. A personal favourite area, especially recommended when the weather is fine.

Great place to stop and have a browse, it's known as the 'antiques capital of Cornwall' locally. There are some lovely shops and restaurants and it's worth a visit to the Duchy Nursery and Restormel Castle which are both close by
