Cute little town, 10 minutes from the house. We do recommend the Underwood restaurant, the Bowman Cellars and virtually any little shop you can find in their half-mile main street strip.

Hip little town where the river meets the sea. It has one great restaurant, a quaint wine tasting by a cool coffee/gift shop. It doesn't sound much like going for, but it is. 30-minute drive from the house.

Food scene

A dining experience. They don't take reservations. If you are not fond of queues, then try to arrive before 6:30pm or after 9:30pm to get a table. Between that time frame you will probably have to wait for a while to get a seat. Which is not a total bummer because right next door you have a nice bar to get drinks while you wait :) At "El Barrio". Try "El Picaro" and let us know your thoughts ;)

Best pies and ice cream in the area. We love their pie-shake. Give it a try! They also offer wine tasting in their shop next door. The ice-cream shop is located in a former bank and you are able to enter their old safe. Kids and grownups alike love it!

Quaint, authentic, unpretentious and serene. I believe that sums up. Just make sure you have an appointment before heading there. Sue moved to this area in the 80s and bought the estate. She runs it alongside her beautiful dog-companion and a small team of dedicated helpers. If they Poco a Poco, get a bottle! They only make so many of them.
