Little Italy Gems

Just a quick tour of some of our favorite things and food items in and around Little Italy
The owner, Amedeo, is a neighborhood treasure. It's the bar that locals gather in the evening for a drink and friendship. Think of an Italian "Cheers". He is also known to whip up some of the best pasta bolognese you've ever had.

Brian and Ashley operate a staple Italian restaurant in Little Italy. Don't miss their meatballs that won "Best of Little Italy" two years in a row. My wife and I also never miss the "Chip's Salad".

Often crowded, which speaks to the magic of this place, make sure you get to Joe Benny's early. Focaccia Pizza may be the best we've ever tasted. Also has great meatballs and a friendly staff.

We prefer to sit in the bar on Friday or Saturday with the piano player. Not much you couldn't recommend on this menu, but the Veal Chop is our favorite. Along with the bartender, Anastasia.

A high end cocktail speakeasy located just three blocks from our apartment in Little Italy. The Elk Room cocktails are crafted with care and creativity and worth every penny of the $16 prices for most drinks. A very cozy and romantic place to take a date.

If it's a nice day and you want to walk around the harbor to the Federal Hill side, The Baltimore Museum of Industry is an interesting stop. Baltimore was the hub of the industrial revolution in the early 1800's. This self guided venue captures much of the interesting history.

One of our favorite sushi places anywhere. Sit at the sushi bar and watch Andy and his team create some highly craved plates. Not inexpensive, but as they say, "you get what you pay for."

100 year old Italian Market and restaurant with some of the best sandwiches you’ll ever eat. Both the original location on Gough St or the new spot at the marina in Federal Hill are both outstanding.
