Sightseeing

45 minutes drive _ 60 kms Picturesque seaside village. Walk around the Nut a 143 high massif rising from Bass Strait and towering over Stanley. Take the chairlift or walk up and/or down. 1 hour circuit walk around top. Featured in the 60 short walks of Tasmania. There are some great little shops in Stanley including the Lilly Shop :) and Hursey's Seafood. Dine in or takeaway. They also sell fresh Tasmanian seafood caught from their boats if you want to cook it yourself. The village of Stanley was featured in the major film 'Light between the Oceans' adapted from the novel.

Dip Falls and the Big Tree Easily overlooked but a beautiful waterfall with ab2 tiered structure and unique rock formations. Most impressive after rain and in winter. Short walk from parking area to the viewing platform. From the car park you can also walk to the Big Tree. Well worth the walk. The Big Tree is almost 17 metres! Dip Falls is between Sisters Beach and Stanley. About 27 km from highway up a quiet mostly sealed road through pleasant countryside. About 1 hour by car from Sisters Beach.

A great accessible for everyone. Bit over 2 hours / 3 hours if you include walk from cottage. Banksia Grove is the ridge you see on the hills to the left of boat ramp at western end of Sisters Beach. You can extend this walk by including the Wet Cave (300 metres up hill on boat ramp foreshore. Lee Archer can also be included in this walk. These caves are important to the local Aboriginal people, who occupied this area for thousands of years.

A longer walk, a circular walk. It follows the track the postman on horseback originally used to deliver mail. A lot of earlier trails and paths followed the paths used by the local Aboriginal population. Go down past the shop, turn left onto the gravel road, into the National Park, follow that gravel road, to the end. Estimate 1.6 kms Signs at the dead end of gravel road for Postman's track. Heads over the hill. Eventually comes out on the Sisters Beach Road you originally drove into Sisters Beach on. About half down hills on right there was a small parking bay. You either turn around there and retrace your steps. Or follow bitumen road downhill to Sisters Beach (easier way I think).

Drinks & Nightlife

A little cheeky but the BEST thing to is rug up on a clear night and take your drink outside. And look up, look up. With little light pollution the stars are amazing. Enjoy
