One of my fav museums in NYC. It is huge and you could spend all day looking around. Cons: It tends to get crowded with tourists. Tip: go on a weekday or rainy day.

Parks & Nature

Great Island a little off the beaten path, but worth the trip. It's an island in the East River in between Manhattan, The Bronx, and Queens. I would suggest visiting the urban farm or riding a bike around and maybe crossing the bridge to Queens where there is a lot of good ethnic food.

Entertainment & Activities

Coney Island is an iconic Boardwalk and beach in NYC (keep in mind New York beaches are not like California or Florida beaches). There is a very old amusement park with the famous Cyclone roller coaster, a famous hot dog stand (Nathan's), arcade games, an aquarium and the beach itself. It's a long train ride, but a great place to visit in the summer.
