Woods Hole, part of Falmouth, is a scenic drive (take the waterfront) from our house, and has several great New England restaurants on the water, has a Ferry to Martha's Vineyard (to Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven), and on Tues - Sat has a great free aquarium for kids (or adults!) run by NOAA (http://aquarium.nefsc.noaa.gov.

The Island Queen Ferry is located on Falmouth Harbor - no cars - but you can take a bike or walk on. It goes exclusively to Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard.

A day trip to Nantucket Island is fantastic - ferries leave from Hyannis - traditional or high-speed. Nantucket, originally a whaling community, retains its old feel, and has lots of great shops and restaurants.

Food Scene

Downtown Falmouth is the best town on the Cape! Lots of unique shops and restaurants - few chain stores....great for afternoon shopping or for dinner!

A small free hands-on aquarium, suited for kids and adults alike. Shows local sea life, a couple of seals, lots of fish and other live animals. Make sure to go out back (not always obvious) because that's where the neat stuff is! They can pick up a star fish and see the scientists breed baby sea life! Open Tues - Sat year round.
