Places to stay in Washington
This is a one bedroom classical Luxury apartment. The Beautiful thing about this location is it’s directly across from the train station nice area and easy to access local food spots and also a lovely Recreation center
This space is the literally the best of both worlds very quiet nice neighborhood but also easily accessible to all of the hotspots in the DC area. Also across from a major bus and train station so guests can easily travel around the city.
The atmosphere in this neighborhood is very quiet but easily accessible to all of the hotspots in DC. Everything is easily assessable because of our major bus and train station which is walking distance from the unit.
  • I was in need of a private place for long term living, the home is private, clean, and quite nearly across the street from the metro.

  • Our stay at Kevin’s place exceeded our expectations. The apartment was sparkling clean and much larger than it looked in pictures!

  • Kevin’s home is nice, private and affordable place to stay. Although we stayed a few hours but still we have been able to relax in his comfortable home. It is close to BWI airport and it is a good option for people who are fly from BWI.

  • This was a very convenient place right near the metro station for us to access DC area without a car. Kevin was really helpful and a great host that I would love to have in the future. He provided us with everything we needed to make our experience memorable. I would recommend this place and host to everyone who want to travel DC. I’m looking forward to booking this place again! Thanks Kevin.

  • We had a great stay with Kevin! He was so communicative and this place was such a steal. It was the perfect place to rest after a busy day of exploring DC and energized us for the next day as well. We definitely would recommend Kevin’s space and hope to come back in the future!

This place has all the sun in the world, bright, warm and cozy. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Please don't expect an ultra modern apartment and building, both are fairly old, but I maintain them as good as reasonably possible.
this is a medium size studio apartment, with everything necessary for your stay. There is a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress, 46" TV with a comfortable sofa. Fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker, toaster and a microwave is good enough for cooking and the bar height counter is comfortable for meals. There is a walk-in closet for storage and cloths. Please also keep in mind that the place has only one bed, the air mattress is provided for the 3rd guest only. If you are 2 and want to sleep separately, this is not a good option.
Foggy Bottom is my personal favorite in Washington DC. it has all types of restaurants, bars and hip coffee shops. Grocery stores are just 2 block away, as well as CVS and other convenience stores. The place is walking distance to Georgetown, Dupont circle as well as major sites in DC. The White House, The Mall and most of Smithsonian museums are just 15-20 minute walk away. If you choose to go further than that, not a problem, Foggy Bottom metro station is just 2 blocks away with blue orange and silver lines, and a bus stop is right outside the building.
  • I would recommend anyone to stay. You’ll receive A1 customer service along with great professionalism and promptness. Location is wonderful, amazing view from the roof top and steps to food. It’s was nothing wrong with this book.. absolutely nothing wrong. Great host, great apartment and great price !!

  • This is a great space! It was my first Airbnb experience and I walked into a lovely clean “studio” but with a full kitchen and full bath. I needed to walk to George Washington hospital and it took me all of 5 minutes. Trader Joe’s is across the street and there’s a Whole Foods right by the hospital along with restaurants. Very easy access in and out of the building. Highly recommend!

You'll love this smart studio in an iconic concierge building, the crown jewel of a leafy, resort-style campus opposite DC's Georgetown cafe & shopping area. It's minutes by foot from Rosslyn metro station -- a junction of 3 lines & big bus hub. Huge 10,000+ sq. ft. gym; free fitness classes; pool w/lap lanes; sauna; steam room; grocery; dry cleaner; hair salon -- all on-site. Walk-in closet, own Wi-Fi, granite counters, picture windows, gleaming bamboo floors, updated bath, built-ins galore.
Coronavirus COVID-19 update: The building's concierge service has been suspended, subject to weekly review. We have worked with our cleaners to implement strict COVID-19 infection prevention and sanitation measures. The in-house gym has been shut temporarily in line with social distancing requirements. As of Mat 1, it remains to be seen if and when the swimming pool will open this summer. Still, it's hard to beat this ultra-convenient setting, adjacent to the Potomac River, Georgetown and the monumental core of Washington D.C. Important: 90-day minimum lease. Sorry, No pets. No inside smoking. The unit features contemporary decor in a leafy, resort-style complex, two blocks from the Rosslyn metro stop. It's an ideal spot for touring D.C. -- only minutes' walk to metro, bus, bicycle-sharing stations and Zipcars. An uncommon collection of major attractions is within easy walking distance, along with many restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores. The fifth-floor studio showcased here combines gleaming bamboo hardwood floors, tiled galley kitchen, granite counters, wall-mounted 43-inch 4K Ultra High Definition LG internet-enabled smart TV (new in 2020), built-in desk, marble bathroom vanity, oak-clad bookcases and other built-ins and upgrades. The TV lets you log into any of your video streaming accounts such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney, YouTube, etc. It also pulls in more than 180 other channels. The apartment includes its own, dedicated, individual Wi-Fi network powered by Comcast Xfinity -- in addition to a building-wide network. The highly popular River Place South building houses a 10,000+-square foot fitness center with late-model cardio and strength equipment, stretching area, sauna and steam room. Free fitness classes typically include Yoga, conditioning and Tai Chi. The studio itself is sunny with a large, high-efficiency, double pane, wall-to-wall picture window; roomy walk-in closet; built-in media center and bookcases. It's fully furnished in contemporary style and fully equipped, including hair dryer, microwave, coffee maker and DVD. All kitchenware and linens are provided. From the apartment, you may walk across the picturesque Key Bridge to D.C.'s trendy Georgetown neighborhood of ethnic restaurants, lively clubs, movies, and busy nightlife plus Georgetown University. Also in easy walking distance is Theodore Roosevelt Island, an 88.5-acre nature preserve in the Potomac crisscrossed by trails and boardwalk that zips you from the urban environment. The building, known as River Place South, is the most updated part of the gated community. A concierge is on duty in the upscale lobby. Community amenities include the resort-style outdoor pool with lap lanes and Jacuzzi-like hot whirlpool (open from Memorial Day to Labor Day). In addition to the in-house health club with late-model cardio and strength equipment and stretching area, River Place boasts an on-site grocery store open until at least 11 pm 7 days a week; hair salon; and on-site dry cleaner. On-site parking may be available by special arrangement @ $100 to $125 per month, depending on location. Washer/dryers are located on the building's first floor, operated with a credit card, debit card or quarters. Substantial improvements have been made to the building in the past few years, including an all-new lobby and mail room; new roof; all new double-pane windows; four new elevators; new hallway carpets: and a laundry room makeover, including advanced washing machines and dryers designed to text when a load is completed. The laundry room costs are limited to $1.50 per load for washing plus $1.50 for drying. The River Place South building overlooks the Potomac River and DC monuments on one side. Elsewhere, it faces the Iwo Jima Monument National Park, home to the storied sculpture of the flag-raising by U.S. Marines during the World War II Battle of Iwo Jima. This studio enjoys a pleasant Rosslyn view, including what amounts to River Place's village square and front lawn. The property lies close to jogging and biking trails along the Potomac, upscale shopping in nearby Clarendon and Georgetown, and acclaimed restaurants. Check out the terrace of the nearby Quarterdeck, a storied crab shack noted for Maryland Blue Crabs, crab cakes, oyster sandwiches, clam chowder and a tart, frozen Key Lime pie. What's more: just one block from the River Place gatehouse, Michelin-starred chef Fabio Trabocchi has crossed the Potomac River for the first time in his career to open a third location of his Northwest D.C. pasta house. A Michelin-starred chef's newest restaurant, that is, now highlights what would be the block nearest you. Zipcar and Capital Bikeshare stations are also within seconds' walk of the gatehouse that controls vehicular access to the attractive campus of sturdy, medium rise, red brick buildings. For touring, the location is perfect: the Rosslyn Metro station is a junction of the Orange, Blue and (newest) Silver metro lines. D.C.'s Ronald Reagan National airport is a straight shot by the metro's Blue line. Dulles International Airport is direct via the 5-A bus or the Silver Line and its companion express bus. Likewise, the Pentagon is direct, via the Blue line. And it's only one stop on the Orange line to DC's Foggy Bottom Metro station -- close to the U.S. State Department, the campus of George Washington University, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the World Bank. Separately, a splendid DC Circulator shuttle bus whisks you over the Key Bridge to Georgetown from Rosslyn and then to Dupont Circle, the heart of DC's intellectual life. Nearby are many of the nation's most prestigious think tanks and research institutions, including the Brookings Institution, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Center for Strategic and International Studies, the German Marshall Fund, The Eurasia Center, the Peterson Institute and the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of The Johns Hopkins University. These think tanks host regular public policy-related events such as expert panel discussions that are free and open to the public. Check their online calendars for listings. Restaurants, coffee shops, bank, Target Express, Safeway supermarket and CVS drug store are all just around the corner from the apartment -- on or next to Wilson Boulevard, Arlington's main thoroughfare. It'd be hard to find a more conveniently located spot in the greater Washington D.C. area. NOTES: The Iwo Jima Marine Corps War Memorial adjacent to River Place is the traditional home of the Sunset Parade, a riveting free performance Tuesday evenings during the summer months by the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps with the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. Crowds also gather at the Memorial on the 4th of July to watch the national fireworks display. The D.C. Circulator bus runs among Dupont Circle, Georgetown and Rosslyn. For $1.00, you may hop on the Circulator at the corner of 19th St. N. and N. Moore St. -- about seven minutes' walk from River Place -- and shoot across the Key Bridge into D.C. For the return trip, pick up the bus in Dupont or Georgetown. Buses run every 10 minutes from 7:00 a.m. - midnight Sunday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m. on weekends. Separately, Georgetown University provides free shuttle service to its main campus. There are two private long-haul bus companies that connect to New York City. Vamoose Bus provides service several times daily from N Lynn Street in Rosslyn -- about five minutes' walk from River Place -- to Penn Station/Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan. The cost start as low as $30.00 each way as of March 2020. *** Please be advised that due to government restrictions concerning COVID-19, Vamoose says on its website that it has suspended all bus service. . Tripper Bus, referenced below, says it plans to resume regular operation on May 15. DC Metro and bus service likewise has been disrupted. *** Tripper Bus provides daily service from nearby 1901 N. Moore Street to the Macy's flagship store on 34th Street in Manhattan, for a similar charge. Rosslyn is super-convenient for working or studying in the DC area. Everything is at your fingertips, including trendy coffee shops, restaurants and boutique shopping. The neighborhood overlooks the Potomac River and DC's monumental core.
  • Host goes above and beyond to make sure everything is how you need and is extraordinarily responsive. This location is primo being a 5 min walk to the metro. Additionally, Chipotle, Potbelly, Target, Safeway, CVS, a nice pasta restaurant are all less than 10 mins. This apartment also has a brand new smart tv with a swivel arm so you can watch on the couch or in bed. Apartment is also equipped with everything needed for long term living. This place is perfect if you’re new to the area or looking to stay just outside DC.

    Allison2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay. Jim is a great host and is always quick to respond if there is anything you need. The apartment is well-kept, the building has great amenities and it is in a convenient location. Would recommend staying here!

    Sarah2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jim’s place was fantastic and he is the best host I have ever had. The apartment was more spacious than the photographs suggest, with lots of natural light and a good amenities, especially in the kitchen for long term guests cooking regularly. The building is well kept, with access to a gym and a wonderful swimming pool in the summer months. The location couldn’t be more convenient, with a short 10 min walk to Rosslyn metro station. Around Rosslyn are plenty of eateries and a Safeway supermarket, with more restaurants over the bridge in Georgetown. Three metro lines take you into central Washington DC meanwhile the circulator bus is useful for Georgetown and Dupont Circle. Jim was kind enough to show me around the local area and make suggestions for tourist activities and restaurants. If I ever return to Arlington, I would stay here again and again and again!

    Cydonie2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jim goes out of his way to make sure that your stay is very comfortable! With my feedback, he made the apartment a better place to be! The gym, pool and the concierge are very nice pluses. The apartment itself is large and comfortable for 2 people with an overnight guest (who would sleep on the couch). Warning: it does get very warm in the winter and cold in the summers so bring appropriate clothes to change into! It is situated within an office-building dominant neighborhood so you need to walk out about 15-20 minutes toward Courthouse or Georgetown for a more shopping/eating/drinking vibe. The fact that it's about 10 minutes to the Rosslyn metro makes it such an idea place-- where all 3 lines (silver, blue, orange) meet before breaking off in two different directions so you never have to wait too long for the next train between Rosslyn and the District. It is also where the 5A bus to/from Dulles stops. I would definitely stay here again, especially for all the running/biking trails around it!

    Sara2019-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying at Jim’s apartment, it was exactly what I needed and would return in a heartbeat!

    Karli2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Renting from Jim easy and worry free! It was so nice when I first arrived he took me on a tour of the area so that I knew local spots as well. The apartment was true to pictures and had all amnesties that is needed. I would definitely recommend renting from Jim.

    Jacquelyn2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were very happy to spend six months in Jim's nice apartment in Rosslyn. The place is very convenient and fully equiped. It is a perfect place either to visit Washington DC or to work there for a couple of months. Jim is very nice and welcoming. We would certainly stay at River Place again if we come back to DC !

Since this is a basement, please note my disclosures below in "other things to note." I personally refurbished this 140-year-old property with one of D.C.'s hottest architects. You can trust that I have taken great care to provide you with fine amenities and attention to detail. This 625 sq. ft. apartment is very comfortable for four people, with two in the bedroom and two others could sleep on the pull-out, queen-sized sofa. There are also 2 single Aerobed blow-up mattresses. If you are traveling as a family, I would consider more than 4 people, but it would be tight. If you need just one night's stay, contact me and we can work something out. I've priced the apartment very competitively using the variable rates AirBnB suggests, based on the time of year. The actual daily cost may be higher or lower than the standard daily rate advertised, but you will always feel like you're getting your money's worth compared to any hotel in DC. If you've used AirBnB before, you know you have to lower expectations just a bit as a budget-conscious traveler (but not too much with this apartment). I also tend to book up fast during peak seasons. Any dates that are grayed out on the calendar you see are booked by other guests. This apartment is a dedicated rental, 365 days a year. I can almost always allow guests to drop their bags after 12:00 noon, but the maid will need a 2-hour window to clean, which can be as late as 5 p.m.
Shaw is the hottest neighborhood in DC right now. There's a great city vibe with nearby bars and restaurants, including a great beer garden 1.5 blocks away. A new gourmet grocery store is only 4 blocks away--a nice stroll through the historic Shaw neighborhood. The colorful row houses were all built at the turn-of-the-century--a classic feature of D.C. Two take-outs are across the street: Chinese and Mediterranean/Indian will do in a pinch, and a 24-hour 7-11 is a block away.
  • This is a great apt in a great location. Right next to Shaw-Howard University metro and a buzzy local area, thanks to the student population. The apt is really well stocked out, with everything you need for a 4/5 stay - Alan is really great at getting back quickly if you have any questions and gave us great tips for getting around the city. Highly recommended - would absolutely stay here again.

  • This was a great stay. Close to Metro so not having a car was not an issue. Alan provided information ahead of time and was quick to answer any questions. Recommended highly!

    Anne2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Alan’s place was perfect for our visit! Great location for Washington, DC proper! Nearby metro station was extremely convenient; located only 1.5 block from the apartment. Alan replies quickly to all questions through the Air B&B app too. My only gripe would be that the TV/cable is a bit complicated to use, but it did not detract from our trip at all. Overall, it was a convenient and cozy place to stay for a fair price in downtown DC!

  • This was a great place to stay. Good value and comfortable. Loved the fireplace. Alan is a great host.

    Beth2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. Alan was super quick to respond and very accommodating for our early bag drop off. The place is really nice and well-located and Alan sent us a couple of recommendations on where to get food etc in the area. Would definitely book again!

My place is a 9 minute walk to The White House! You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood, the people, it is an ideal location...walking distance to lots of great restaurants, bars, clubs, super markets, tourist attractions...etc. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Foggy bottom neighborhood is a historic district. Foggy Bottom takes its name from the morning mist that comes off of its southern boundary, the Potomac River. But the neighborhood, which stretches up to include the West End (just west of Georgetown) is a clear winner. Home to the Kennedy Center, the State Department and the southern tip of Rock.
  • Great apartment and host!

  • Great location thats a quick walk from white house and national mall

  • This apartment was just what my family was looking for. It had everything we needed and was right in the middle of all the places we wanted to see on our trip. Reyume was available whenever we needed her and responded quickly. I would definitely stay here again.

    Cristal2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Reyume’s place was so clean and an amazing location! Safe neighborhood as well!!

    Savanna2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Place is very stylish, feels like your own apartment. She even had a booklet with tips, locals around the neighborhood.

    Rosalyn2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I took a quick trip museum hopping and sight seeing in DC and Reyume's place was perfect for us! We were very comfortable walking around the neighborhood by ourselves and everything was within a short walk! We were able to check in a little early, the place was clean and very comfortable, all linens and "extras" were provided like toiletries and even a tablet for guest access. Also I really appreciated that a fan was available for temperature adjustment, but also because I'm a "white noise" sleeper and forgot my own. I did find parking a bit difficult but I found a very nice 24hr garage just on the next block over. I definitely recommend this perfect little location!

    Crystal2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for both site seeing or hanging out around the GW campus. Nice place, very easy to sleep 2 and 3 wouldn't have been tough.

    Cody2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Reyume's place was lovely for my one night stay in DC. The apartment was perfect for 1 person, though it could work for 2 as well. It had everything I needed, including bathroom products so I didn't have to bring my own. It was clean and cozy and in a good location. The only thing to note is that you can't control the temperature (it's set by the building) - thankfully I was in DC during a warmer time and was able to use the fans and leave the windows partially open so it wasn't an issue for me. Communication was easy and I would stay here again.

  • Our stay was very good, the place is well prepared and has all the comforts. Gemma is super attentive in both small details and communication. The only thing to comment is that sometimes noises from above are heard, but that is where Gemma and the family live. Super recommended to spend a few days in Washington!

    Karen2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using the entire app system. Gemma's place was a great for my short stay in DC. Easy access to the location and key to house was easy to find. The place has a good style (rustic and modern) which I enjoyed the most. The place had all the amenities I needed and even a washer and dryer. Gemma was very response to my questions and she provided me with parking passes and buss ticket. Thank you Gemma!

Classic English basement-perfect location to visit DC. 420 friendly. Hotel grade mattress! Quiet, safe neighborhood surrounded by longtime residents. Easy walk to H St./Barracks Row/Eastern Market. Metro/bus offers simple, fast access to the heart of DC and suburbs. Ideal for families or business travelers. High speed internet provided, stunning local parks and bike trails just out the front door. Cozy enough to never want to leave but close enough to local attractions that leaving is easy!
UPDATE: I DEEP CLEAN EVERY SURFACE OF MY UNIT. ALL LINENS SEE A FULL HEAT SANTIZE WASH AND THERE ARE ADDITIONAL LINENS IN THE UNIT FOR YOUR COMFORT. IF ANYONE IN MY FAMILY EXPERIENCES SO MUCH AS A SNIFFLE I WILL ALERT MY GUESTS. DC IS A WONDERFUL CITY AND WE NEED AT LEAST A FEW VISITORS TO STILL COME!!! Now back the regular listing details: Best part of the unit is the professional grade mattress purchased as the exact same you will find in most Hilton hotel properties, included those listed as 5 star * 5 diamond - with AAA ratings. Very comfortable - rest is important when traveling. Repeating this a few times to prevent negative ratings. I live here. There is noise from my family, footsteps, voices etc generally 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. with kids (obviously not when we are out or they are in school)
There is no better place to live in this city, it really is a tight knit neighborhood. Family and long time friends live on my street. DC is a fast changing city we have been here since 2003. Kingman Island (5 min walk) recently added stunning playgrounds, ball fields and upgraded nature walkways to the river. Bike trails stretch up and down the Anacostia and Potomac rivers from here to the recently revitalized Navy Yard/Waterfront districts... and on all the way to Georgetown.

Spacious one-bedroom apartment on a quiet street with private entrance, full kitchen and laundry, free parking, close to public transit (a block away from several bus lines, less than 1 mile to a Metro stop). Double bed in bedroom, pullout sofa bed in the living room. Great for kids!
If you want to visit the heart of Washington, D.C., without the traffic and expensive parking, stay with us in Brightwood. You'll have an entire finished basement apartment suite all to yourself, with private bathroom, living area, kitchen and laundry. Public transit is easy to access in this safe, quiet neighborhood. Hike or jog in the forested trails of the famous Rock Creek Park, just 2 blocks away.
Brightwood is a leafy, family-centric neighborhood. Rock Creek Park is just two blocks away from our home; a large and well-appointed public playground is just four blocks away. Though we're right in the District, on a Sunday morning all you'll hear is the birds chirping (and possibly the pitter-patter of little feet upstairs). The Maryland communities of Takoma Park and Silver Spring are both within walking distance or can be accessed by bus.
  • Nice area and living space. Extremely comfortable and homely.

  • Morgan is a really nice host, and the location is safe and convenient. One thing you need to remember is to bring your own body wash and shampoo. It was really nice to meet different people and talk to them. I’ve learned a lot from this trip, don’t be scared of sharing a room with other people, this can be one of your getting out of comfort zone experience. Highly recommend

    Shufang2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my second long-term stay at Morgan's just as much as the first one a year ago. The apartment has even been improved, but the guests were just as nice and respectful as last time. Probably the best place to stay if you're in D.C. for a bit longer and don't mind sharing space with others.

    Johannes2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan's apartment is a very comfortable place in an ideal location. Easy access to mass transit! Morgan catalyzes great global conversation among his guests. I enjoyed being there a lot!

  • This was a great, very well priced place! Even better if you enjoy socialising with interesting people travelling through! The metro is close by to take you into everything around the national mall and beyond, but I just walked in from the accomodation which was even faster than the metro!

    Ceri2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan’s place is very classy, it’s nice decked out Condo near the New York Avenue Metro Station, the kitchen table looks like it’s made out of marble. There are laundry machines which are included in the price, If you’re only going to wash one outfit, I recommend using the low load setting on the machine. The complex has a business center, a gym inside, and what looks like a party room or something like that. The complex is quiet, it seems like most of Morgan’s neighbors are professional people like himself. One thing that might throw folks off is people in the complex leave trash in the hallway, that’s because the Association provides trash pickup service for residents of the complex, so it’s a complex of messy people like it might appear. Morgan and his caretaker are great, they’re both very helpful with advice on how to get to places, and where stuff is. I love the picture in the bathroom next to the sink, and no I’m telling what it is, you’ll have to see if for yourself..... The bathroom is well organized, very clean. The kitchen space is clean, he provides a water heater that heats water up fast for making tea, or coffee or whatever, and he provides tea for guests. One thing I suggest to provide sticker labels for guests to mark their personal food and beverages in the refrigerator, but other than that, he keeps space in the refrigerator for guests, he does a good job there. The door is always open so you don’t have to bother with a key card, or code to get into the condo, you do need a fob to get into the building which Morgan provides, that’s building rules. My only complaint about Morgan is his price, price is high for a shared room. Other shared rooms I have had through AIRBNB the price has been about $20.00 per night and I have paid the price range that Morgan charges before through AIRBNB before but for private rooms, however, though it’s more than what I’m used to paying for a shared room, it’s still more affordable then a hotel or Youth Hostel would be. But anyone who’s used to $20 per night lodging through AIRBNB just be prepared for that higher price if you choose Morgan as a host when traveling to DC. Another thing I really like about Morgan is he’s not like a lot of AIRBNB hosts who are absentee owners living out of the country, he lives in the building, and you will get to meet him. Over all Morgan is a very good host, friendly, helpful, his Condo is classy, well maintained, building is nice, and you never need to bother riding any busses to get to and from the place if you don’t want to. I highly recommend Morgan as a host in DC. As a side note, DC has a great Metro System, if you’re just visiting to see the Federal Landmarks all of them are near Metro Stations, and if you have a YMCA membership, there is a great YMCA Branch near the U Street Cardozo Station on W Street, so I highly recommend using the Metro System exclusively!

Welcome to charming, bustling Georgetown. A nationally-designated historic district, Georgetown was founded in 1751, nearly half a century before the District of Columbia, as a bustling port city on the banks of the Potomac. Today Georgetown is a neighborhood with a vibrant business district, an active residential community, and a popular recreational waterfront. It is D.C.’s premier destination and ‘playground’ for shopping, dining, history, fitness, and family fun. Georgetown offers a variety of 450+ shopping, dining and entertainment options in a beautiful, historic setting. M Street, Georgetown’s main avenue, is recognized as one of the best shopping streets in the country. The intersection of M and Wisconsin Avenue is the heart of Georgetown, with boutique-lined streets extending in all four directions. Known for its quaint cobblestone streets and 18th and 19th century architecture, the neighborhood is a delightful mix of past and present that sets it apart from the rest of Washington, D.C. My favorite spot is the Georgetown waterfront which is just a 5-minute walk away from the apartment.

  • I had to go to D.C. for a visit at the Swedish embassy in the middle of the COVID-19 outbreak. With everything closed I had nowhere to go before the time of check-in but Marsh let me drop of my bag earlier while the place was being cleaned which was very helpful. Communication with Marsh was super smooth, she was very responsive. The place had everything I needed and more. Coffee, sparkling water, chocolate treat etc. The location is great! Super cute neighborhood. I was able to enjoy it walking around even though there were no bars or stores open. I definitely recommend this place and host! If I ever get a chance visit D.C. under more normal circumstances I would not hesitate to book this place again.

  • Jen’s place is great. I live in DC and can’t think of a better location to stay in the city: a quiet neighborhood with amazing access to the best that DC has to offer. Walking distance to Adams Morgan, U Street, and easy access to the metro. The space is great, and we really enjoyed the quiet outdoor patio and the well stocked kitchen. Jen was an amazing and thoughtful host and was quick to reply to messages. I would definitely stay again or recommend Jen’s place to friends and family visiting DC.

  • We had a great stay at Jennifer's place. She and her husband were very friendly and accommodating, and check-in was a breeze. They provided everything we needed for our weekend getaway to DC. The space was clean, comfortable, and full of amenities like coffee, snacks, and shampoo/body wash. The neighborhood was charming and walkable — only 10 minutes to the zoo on-foot and less than a 5-minute walk to the bars, restaurants, and shops on 18th. Highly recommend booking this Airbnb when visiting DC!

    Molly2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice and conveniently located one-bedroom apartment that is spacious enough for four. Excellent communication from Jennifer prior to our arrival, with all the check-in details carefully explained prior to our arrival. Jennifer communicated promptly and offered so many helpful amenities, such as a parking pass and metro cards. The apartment was so cute and very well-furnished. There were lots of towels, snacks, and coffee, water, and tea. Very highly recommend - one of our best Airbnb experiences.

Legislation isn’t made in Dupont Circle, but this hub of activity often feels like DC’s true city center. This trendsetting neighborhood boasts more long-term residents than summer interns, lending it a lived-in quality that’s uncommon in a city of new arrivals. Dupont Circle’s around-the-clock energy invites people to come for brunch and stay until last call, while its parks attract residents to relax as they observe their neighbors protesting, painting, or reading the afternoon away.

  • This was in a safe and fun location, super clean, and was a great deal! I was in town for a conference and was able to walk to the conference center everyday. Check in was very easy though I would note that there are two small dogs that stay on the floor above, this wasn't a deterrent for me as I only heard them very briefly twice during my stay, but something to note for future guests!

Large one bedroom apartment in historic brownstone building. Walking distance from the city's top restaurant district (14th St), Downtown and the White House, and the Dupont Circle and U Street metro stations (Red, Green and Yellow lines). It's the ideal location for vacationers looking to see DC (including families), or for those doing business in the city. One large bedroom with king size bed. Queen size air mattress available for additional guests. Furnished with everything you need.
The apartment is unusually large for a DC one bedroom (it recently accommodated two adults and five children!) It is fully furnished and does not require you to bring anything more than you would ordinarily bring to a hotel. There is wi-fi internet as well as Apple TV with Netflix access. The space includes a kitchen with pots, pans and the like, as well as a dishwasher. We stock the bathroom with standard supplies, including shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Towels and sheets are provided. There is a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, washer and dryer with soap for laundry, a large closet and chest of drawers for longer stays. Pets are permitted only with prior approval.
The neighborhood is centrally located and ideal for visiting Washington DC. The entire city is easily accesible via Metro, as we are within ~8 min walk of 3 major metro lines: red, yellow, and green. But it's also a great walking area, as the apartment sits at the axis of three of DC's most vibrant neighborhoods (each within 3 blocks): Dupont Circle with its historic architecture and gateway to downtown, and the 14th Street and U Street corridors that house many of the city's finest restaurants. Most are available on a walk-in basis. If you want to dine at some of Washington's finest restaurants that require advance planning, consider reservations at Komi, Le Diplomate and Sushi Taro. All likely require reservations in advance as they are some of the most highly rated restaurants in the city, and all are within blocks of the apartment. There is a larger guide available in the apartment that lists dozens of restaurants that should be able to accommodate last minute plans. Also within walking distance: Malcolm X / Meridian Hill Park, the city's largest urban park other than the National Mall, famous for its cascading fountain and Sunday afternoon drum circle!
  • The apartment is in a vibrant neighborhood in the heart of DC. Many Capitol attractions within walking distance. The furnishings are very comfortable and nicely arranged.

    Randy2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice space, good light even though basement level, tasteful artwork and very comfortable. Location is brilliant: mere steps to metro, buses, restaurants. Hosts are real people (this is not a hotel masquerading as AirBnB) who live in the building, and respond quickly to messages. They know the neighborhood well, if you need guidance.

    Aimee2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This full apartment Airbnb cannot be beat when you’re visiting DC. The location is awesome — convenient to shopping and restaurants and metro and sites. And the apartment is fantastic too — super clean, super comfortable (especially the king sized bed) and roomy, well furnished and appointed. David and Kathy have a great guide to the city with their recommendations, and I found that very useful. There’s a reason some qualify as Superhosts; there is not doubt that David and Kathy are super hosts with a wonderful apartment right in the middle of DC. (While you can take the metro, ride shares are plentiful and reasonable, and a much better way to get a sense of this beautiful city than riding below ground). Five stars out of five.

  • I’ve stayed here before. Super convenient location, near Rosslyn Metro Station. Clean place. Simple, but comfortable furninshings. No complaints.

  • Great stay

    Alexander2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Hazem has such a great place and for such an affordable price too. We went during Valentine’s Day/ President’s Day weekend and it was still very affordable. Having the parking spot to leave my car while I take a very cheap Uber into DC was definitely an added bonus to the whole place. I would definitely stay here again!

  • SUPER close to Georgetown, which was a huge plus for us during our stay. The place was exactly what we were looking for and I liked the benefit of being in a secure location with a doorman and a gate guard.

  • Great Host. Good communication.

    Dami2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place, my girlfriend and I both really enjoyed the live plants, the decorations and the rooftop deck! The place was clean, Robert worked very hard to ensure an early check in was available for us as we were from out of state and wanted to drop off our belongings. Very convenient location, a short walk to most amenities, and a short bike ride or car drive to all the tourist destinations. 10/10 would stay again in a heartbeat.

    Michael2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was really modern and the space was very clean. The staircase would be a bit difficult for maybe elderly or someone with a lot of luggage but it was cool. The balcony deck was nice as well. Definitely would recommend and would stay again.

    Hayden2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately I had an accident day one of our trip so we could not stay long. The house is amazing, so beautiful and clean. Robert was MORE than helpful, especially having to leave early. He even had some suggestions on what I could do to help me get some money back, which I did and I am so grateful. I cannot wait to come back, the house is amazing, nothing bad to say

    Emily2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish and clean, except there is no tv to watch but experience was great.

  • This is my second booking at Christian's place --- this time for 2 weeks. The apartment had all the amenities I needed for an extended stay. Especially appreciated were the high-end washer and dryer and the dishwasher . . . two great features that aren't always available in Airbnb places.

The location is ideal for walking to any of the DC landmarks and a variety of great restaurants/bars. Christian was super helpful and overall a great host. Definitely would stay here again.

    Rohan2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice place - fully stocked kitchen, complimentary coffee and tea to make in the morning, decent location (about a 25 minute walk to the heart of monuments and museums, though after dark some routes might be better than others), relatedly, free parking, which was glorious for this budget traveler, and a good security system near the house. Christian provided helpful local tips and suggestions and I'm sure would've offered more had I asked. Would recommend.

    Bennett2020-03-12T00:00:00Z

  • Houcine is a great model of a host. The communication is super fast and he is very warm, helpful to accommodate our needs. The house is super comfy, clean and very very cozy, and equipped well. Very nice touch and well thought of everything. It has the hanger for your coat with style. I love it! If you have a car, you can park in front of the house, just that you need to find space. I don’t have a problem finding a space. And Houcine was kindly provided a parking ticket.

This fine studio: granite counters, dishwasher, gas stove, 4 closets, updated bath, queen bed, village-square view, own Wi-Fi, swiveling 43" Toshiba Smart TV. Bamboo- & tile-floored, it stands out in iconic River Place South building. Walk to DC's trendy Georgetown or to Rosslyn metro station, 1 stop to Foggy Bottom. Leafy, gated, campus-like grounds, concierge service, resort-style pool, dreamy in-house gym with free fitness classes, sauna, steam room; on-site market, dry cleaner, hair salon.
Coronavirus COVID-19 update: The building's concierge service has been suspended, subject to weekly review. We've worked with our cleaners to implement strict COVID-19 infection prevention & sanitation measures. The in-house gym has been shut temporarily under social distancing orders. As of mid-May, it remains to be seen if and when the swimming pool will open this summer. Still, it's hard to beat this ultra-convenient setting, adjacent to the Potomac River, Georgetown and the rest of Washington D.C. Important: 90-day minimum lease. Sorry, No pets. No smoking inside, per housing corporation's rules. This is a fully equipped studio with a separate kitchen in the highly popular River Place South building, minutes from DC by metro, bus or foot. It's a straight shot by metro or bicycle to Amazon's new headquarters expansion site, the result of a nationwide selection process. Also within a couple miles are campuses of Georgetown, George Washington, George Mason and Johns Hopkins (SAIS) universities, among other higher learning institutions and offices of major international institutions. River Place itself is a leafy, resort-style complex -- two blocks from the Rosslyn Metro station/hub. This 7th-floor studio features bamboo hardwood and tile floors, along with a 43" swiveling, wall-mounted, Toshiba Smart HDTV. With its built-in technology, you may subscribe to thousands of channels, apps, and Alexa skills, including Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Hulu, HBO, SHOWTIME, Disney+, STARZ, PHILO, etc. Other fine features: Cararra marble bathroom vanity, private Comcast Xfinity Wi-Fi network with company-advertised downloads of up to 100 mbps -- and direct access to the sprawling, 10,000+-square-foot, in-house fitness center with late-model equipment and free fitness classes, plus sauna and steam room. The apartment is sunny with large wall-to-wall, double-pane, picture windows; four closets including a walk-in closet; and built-in, oak-clad bookcases. It's fully furnished in contemporary style and equipped with kitchenware and linens. The unit is 406 square feet. Included is a tiled kitchen with granite counter tops, under-cabinet lighting and Whirlpool "White Ice" dishwasher. The queen-sized bed is 60" wide (152 cm) by 80" (200 cm) long. From the apartment, you may stroll across the picturesque Key Bridge in about 15 minutes to D.C.'s trendy Georgetown neighborhood of ethnic restaurants, lively clubs and busy nightlife near Georgetown University. Everything is at your fingertips from this apartment -- it's ultra-convenient for working or studying in Washington D.C. and surrounding areas. One nearby gem is Theodore Roosevelt Island, an 88.5-acre national memorial and nature preserve in the Potomac. The island is crisscrossed by trails and boardwalk that transport you from the urban environment. It's home to a free, weekly, volunteer-led, 5K run on Saturdays at 9 a.m. All levels of runners and walkers are welcome, often followed by sessions at a nearby coffee shop. Zipcar and Capital BikeShare stations each are virtually at the doorstep of the River Place campus. The River Place South building is the most updated part of the well-known, gated, River Place community. Recent upgrades have included new windows, laundry room, hallways, roof, lobby, mail room, gym, sauna and steam room. A concierge is normally on duty seven days a week in the ski chalet-like lobby to log in your parcels and to steer guests. The community's amenities include a resort-style outdoor pool with lap lanes and hot whirlpool in a Japanese rock-garden setting. A gatehouse that controls vehicular entry to the River Place complex is staffed 24/7. Also featured: the in-house health club with late-model cardio and strength equipment; an on-site grocery store (open until 11 p.m. on weekdays, midnight on weekends), hair salon/spa and dry cleaner/tailor shop. On-site garage and surface parking is typically available from third parties @$100 to $125 per month, depending on precise location. Early check-in on your move-in day also may be available. If so, we're happy to accommodate. Washer/dryers are housed on the building's first floor, operated with quarters or debit or credit card. The updated laundry room features washers and dryers that handle loads for no more than $1.50. The River Place South building overlooks the Potomac River and DC's glowing white marble, granite and sandstone monumental core, including the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, Kennedy Center and Capitol Dome. Another side overlooks the Iwo Jima Monument National Park, home to the sculpture of U.S. Marines planting the flag during World War II's Battle of Iwo Jima. This apartment features a rolling, village-square view of the River Place complex and Rosslyn beyond. The property lies close to jogging and biking trails along the Potomac River, upscale shopping in nearby Clarendon and acclaimed dining. You may want to try, for instance, the Quarter Deck -- a popular crab shack with sunny terrace noted for freshly steamed Maryland Blue Crabs, scallops, oysters, crab cakes and frozen Key Lime pie. And just one block from the River Place gatehouse, Michelin-starred chef Fabio Trabocchi and his wife Maria have crossed the Potomac River for the first time in their Washington career to open a third location of their celebrated Northwest D.C. pasta house. A Michelin-starred chef's newest restaurant, that is, now is delighting diners on the very block nearest you. It's meant to be an outstanding neighborhood "joint" -- exceptional food at moderate prices in relaxed surroundings with impeccable service. For Michelin that’s $40 for two courses—or small plates, tapas-style —plus a glass of wine or dessert (tax and tip not included). For touring, the apartment's location is also unsurpassed: 5-7 minutes' walk to the Rosslyn Metro station, an intersection of the Orange, Blue and (newest) Silver metro lines. One stop away is DC's Foggy Bottom Metro stop, George Washington University and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Separately, a $1 D.C. Connector shuttle bus whisks you over the Key Bridge to Georgetown and then to Dupont Circle, the beating heart of DC's intellectual life (home to some of the nation's most prestigious think tanks and research institutions, including the Brookings Institution, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the German Marshall Fund, The Eurasia Center, the Peterson Institute and the School of Advanced International Studies of The Johns Hopkins University). A wide range of restaurants and coffee shops -- along with banks, co-working spots, Safeway supermarket, Target Express and CVS drug store -- all are just around the corner from River Place - either along or next to Wilson Boulevard, Arlington's main thoroughfare. It's hard to imagine a more convenient spot in the D.C. area. Notes: The Iwo Jima Marine Corps War Memorial adjacent to River Place is a major D.C. landmark. It's the traditional home to the Sunset Parade, a stirring free performance Tuesday evenings during the summer months by the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, with the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. Crowds gather at the Memorial on the 4th of July to watch the national fireworks display. The D.C. Circulator bus runs among Dupont Circle, Georgetown and Rosslyn. For $1.00, you may hop on the Circulator at the corner of 19th St. N. and N. Moore St. -- about seven minutes' walk from River Place -- and zip across the Key Bridge into D.C. For the return trip, pick up the bus in Dupont or Georgetown. Buses run every 10 minutes from 7:00 a.m. - midnight Sunday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m. on weekends. In addition, there are two private bus companies that connect to New York City. Vamoose Bus provides service several times daily from N Lynn Street in Rosslyn -- about seven minutes' walk from River Place -- to Penn Station/Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan. The cost may be as low as $20.00 depending on how far ahead a ticket is booked. Tripper Bus provides daily service from nearby 1901 N. Moore Street to the Macy's flagship store on 34th Street in Manhattan. • Staying at one of Jim's places in the D.C. area is the best decision you can make. I am grateful that I did. Once you stay in his studio you will notice the attention to detail and care he puts into his properties. Further, he is a gracious and accommodating host who cares for the people that stay in his apartments. He also responds to any inquiries immediately.

  • River Place South is a well-run condo with good amenities. Jim is a great host, always kind, attentive and eager to assist. I can highly recommend this studio, which is a nice and convenient place to stay.

  • I liked the studio so much that I'm coming back there after the summer. It is the best I could find. The studio is very pleasant, calm, very sunny, ideally located (near Georgetown) and as a bonus, River South Place offers free great fitness, yoga and tai chi lessons every week! As for Jim, you could not dream of a better landlord!

  • We are a repeat customer of Jim's. We originally stayed at anther of his tremendous properties but ended up coming back and staying with Jim again. He is the most conscientious, kind, thoughtful and responsive host we have ever stayed with. Jim works incredibly hard to be sure the tenant's needs are taken care of and everything is attended to both in the apartment and in the check in process. The apartment itself is lovely and very well appointed. The kitchen was nice and the place had very good closet space and storage. Everything is spotless and Jim is an email or text away to make sure everything works very well. We couldn't have been any happier with the apartment, the neighborhood or Jim -- all superb.

  • The apartment was everything as advertised: it's clean, quiet and well-positioned in a wonderful location close to every mode of major transportation. Along with a range of attractive eating options in the neighborhood, Georgetown and the Monuments beckon within walking distance (or just a short taxi ride away), depending on one's mood and inclination. This is a great option for anyone seeking affordable lodging in a safe and well-maintained environment in the DMV.

  • Jim is a dream to work with--responsive, polite, accommodating, an honest, upstanding guy. The place and the location are fabulous. Have no concerns about staying there; this is one of those "we got lucky!" listings.

  • Awesome place and location if you’re traveling by yourself or with a friend and you meet cool people.

    Angel2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is pretty much exactly as advertised— a nice, well-kept common area; a clear and prompt-to-respond host; and a sleeping area of bunk beds which will be likely filled. If that's your jam, this is perfect. I personally lucked out and had fantastic random people staying at the same time as me (from Britain and Australia, among others) and that made it even better. I was able to walk a mile to my convention center each day and you have very good access to the bustling part of the city. If you're hoping for a social time more than a private time, I recommend it.

THIS APARTMENT IS THOROUGHLY CLEANED INSIDE AND OUT AND DISINFECTED THREE TIMES. THERE ARE ZERO REPORTED CASES OF COVID-19 IN THE BUILDING.
