State / Provincial Park
“Columbia is a historic town that brings you back to the mid-1800's. There are many activities to do there throughout the year, but is always fun just to take a walk around in. The Candy Kitchen isn't to be missed. Take a ride on the old stage coach, and then have dinner in one of the local restaurants.”

Nature
“Moaning Caverns holds California’s deepest cave chamber, where you can descend deep underground on a guided walk tour, or reserve a challenging, 3-hour caving Adventure Trip. Above ground, race 1/4 mile on thrilling twin zip lines or climb their 32-ft custom climbing tower. For the little ones, gemstone mining at their custom flume system is always fun and cracking geodes is a big hit with rock hounds of all ages.”

Performing Arts Venue
“This is a great getaway for an evening of entertainment. Everything from symphony orchestras to rock performers to stand-up comics. We’ve seen the Nutcracker performance presented each year in Nov-Dec by Central West Ballet. They do a wonderful job. We’ve also seen Richard Marx and Billy Ocean. Every seat is a good seat. Highly recommended. ”

“You can stroll among dozens of restored military aircraft at this outdoor facility. The vintage war birds include the B-25 Mitchell medium-range bomber—best known for the Jimmy Doolittle raid on Tokyo after the attack on Pearl Harbor—and the speedy SR-71 Blackbird, used for reconnaissance over Vietnam and Libya. A recently arrived star is an aircraft that from 1974 to 2006 was known as Air Force One whenever it transported the U.S president.”

Restaurant
“Commonwealth is our favorite bar/mini bites restaurant downtown. They offer 10 to 20 local, craft beers on tap and some very tasty bar snacks. They always seem to be busy on the weekends but are usually quick to serve. Not very expensive for a bar and the atmosphere is great with the outdoor seating area being great in the summer months. They recently started doing Sunday brunch as well!”
