Places to stay in Sheffield
Nestled high in the beautiful Saddleworth hills, enjoy a taste of Tiny House living in a peaceful woodland setting all to yourself. If you’re looking for a bolt-hole, this is it! Although rural, the cabin is nearby to the picturesque villages of Uppermill, Diggle, Dobcross and Delph, all with essential amenities and transport links with the Peak District and Pennine hills on our doorstep. For singles, couples or young families (one child under 12yrs).
Welcome! UPDATE: Cleanliness and hygiene has always been a priority for all of our guests but in light of the current coronavirus situation, I’ve taken the extra precautions to deep clean between each booking. This means an extra hour to ensure every inch of the cabin is disinfected and sterile for your safety. Therefore check in is now from 3pm. I’d also like to reassure guests that at the cabin you are isolated from other people and can self-check in so that you don’t meet the host if you prefer. Also please note that the cabin has been fully redecorated and has a brand new luxury bed and Eve hybrid mattress. Updated photos to follow! Please read the listing description throughly before booking or enquiring. *The cabin has a minimum two night stay* We have a lovely and unique tiny house experience but it may not be for everyone! Please ask if unsure, I’m very happy to help. The cabin has all the facilities to make you feel comfortable and perfectly at home. A perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature and a peaceful place to relax and unwind in a secluded and private woodland setting. You will have total privacy and seclusion at the cabin. Within 30 acres of privately owned land, it is a real retreat from the general noise and stresses of everyday life. You might just have the best night’s sleep you’ve ever had! The cabin's living/ bedroom has a large comfortable double sofa bed and ensuite with double shower. All linens, towels, gowns and slippers are included for your use. The kitchen/dining area has a breakfast bar, toaster, mini-fridge, microwave, kettle, tea/coffee/sugar/sweeteners etc. Cafetière, teapot, pizza plate, knife set, chopping board, cutlery, bottle opener, cheese slicer, microwave, omelette maker and egg boiler. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO COOKER OR HOB. To cook is a microwave or bbq. Smart TV with some analogue channels and also tons of DVDs for your use. PLEASE NOTE - we’ve given up on WiFi for moment as it’s so unreliable. Why not log out for a while and enjoy real HD life in the countryside:) Help yourself to enjoy a wide selection of card and board games or books to read. With some of your favourite tunes on the Bluetooth speaker, cuddle up with a hot chocolate or glass of wine and enjoy a restful, cosy, lazy time in the woods. There is also a Weber bbq, log burning Chiminea and seating on the outdoor deck area overlooking a stunning view of the valley. There are wild pheasants, partridges, hares, rabbits, squirrels, badgers, hedgehogs, wood pigeons, kestrels, Kites, Sparrow Hawks and owls who live and forage in the woods and surrounding areas. We also have our own flock of chickens and ducks who may join you for some breakfast entertainment;) During the Spring we hatch and raise new ducklings and chicks to keep things fun, guests are most welcome to meet them when they hatch. We also have sheep and our own horses in adjacent fields . Feel free to give them a pat but please DO NOT feed the horses as they are on a special diet. Also we ask guests not to enter the field with the horses. They are large animals so youngsters should be supervised by an adult at all times.
Located in a tiny and beautiful rural hamlet high in the Saddleworth hills. We are perfectly situated on the Pennine bridleway for cyclists, walkers and horse riders - a very popular choice for those travelling this amazing route. There are two delightful local pubs only 10- 15 mins walk away, serving great pub grub and local ales. Comfortable seating, roaring fires and beer gardens. Proper Yorkshire hospitality! Its about a 25 min walk to Uppermill ( the largest village in Saddleworth). A lively village with lots of boutiques, gift shops, cafes, wine bars, pubs, restaurants and a great tourist information centre at the Saddleworth museum. To Diggle, it’s a 15-20 min walk down the hill to the village. Great ice-cream at Grandpa Greenes and lovely canal walks to Uppermill. There is a Tesco supermarket 10 mins drive away in Greenfield.

    Tiffany2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great Airbnb in a fab location for both Ecclesall Road and the city Center. Fit 4 in perfectly, would come again if needing a place to stay in Sheffield

    Sophie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here. The flat is spacious and very stylish. We couldn’t fault our experience.

    Aaron2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, exactly as described, but with plenty of thoughtful extra touches. Rosie suggested some great places for us to eat, was an excellent communicator, and the flat was extremely clean and comfy. We had a double air bed, and a double futon, and extra blankets and storage heaters kept us nice and warm. Would definitely recommend.

    Jenifer2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little apartment with all you need for a relaxing couple of nights. Rosie was the perfect host and totally flexible around our awkward needs and circumstances. Gorgeous flat and lovely garden view!

    Rachel2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent little place to stay if you're visiting Sheffield. Rosie is a great host... Really easy to communicate with and nice little touches during check in.

    Mark2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, homely flat in a residential area, a short walk from the shops and restaurants on Ecclesall Road. The hosts were thoughtful and quick to respond to messages. Tea and coffee were available, including extra drinks in the fridge for an optional extra. Information about the local area, transport and takeaways were also provided. We had a sofa bed with a mattress and a double airbed with bedding and extra blankets and pillows. The flat is below the house and the noise does travel, however we only used the flat for a night so this was not an issue. Lovely flat which is clean and well-kept. Great value for money, would definitely recommend!

    Bethany2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely accommodation with thoughtful little extras that come in very handy! The space is cosy and the conservatory was airy and spacious adding a lovely feel. Rosie was an excellent host and dealt immediately with an issue I raised after the first night and a suitable remedy was found.

  • Had a great stay here. When we arrived they had got the fire going for us which was lovely to arrive to. The place has been redecorated really nicely and had everything we needed. Breakfast was a nice touch too!

    Sarah-Jane2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic overnight stay at Sharon & Chris's place. The very best thing was definitely their hospitality - we felt so welcomed. I had managed to miss all of Sharon's warnings that there is no oven, so when we arrived with some food to cook Sharon was so kind and insisted that it be cooked at their place and brought over. The little touches were lovely - the breakfast, the candles, the fire already lit. The bed was one of the comfiest we have ever stayed in. We loved that there were bath sheets, and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was lovely. We were a bit chilly to start with, so definitely recommend taking slippers and a jumper, but we warmed up. It's a lovely little place, beautifully clean, and we will definitely be recommending it to others.

    Ellie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Would 100% reccomemd Sharon and Chris property. Log fire was burning when we arrived and the personal touches such as milk and orange juice in the fridge and croissants for breakfast were really lovely. We stayed for a cosy night in and it was perfect. Will definitely be staying again! 😊

    Kate2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Many thanks to Sharon and Chris for an amazing stay in their wonderful place. Would definitely like to stay again and will be recommending it to our family and friends.

    David2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in a lovely area. The fire was already lit when we arrived which was a welcome bonus in the middle of Storm Dennis. The house is very cosy downstairs with a large dining table and comfortable sofa to chill out in front of the fire, and upstairs the bedroom is spacious with nice views over the garden and fields beyond. We had a drink in the Unicorn and whilst we were there the food that was being served looked incredible. We stopped at the farm shop when we left and stocked up with some goodies for our tea and also some breakfast butties for our journey home which were very tasty. Would definitely recommend!!

    Nathan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much! We had the loveliest stay, and Sharon was welcoming and accommodating on arrival. Whenever I had a question she would reply to texts within the minute and ensured everything was perfect for our stay. There was a selection of board games which was perfect if wanting a cozy night in. Croissaunts provided for the morning and orange juice from the local farm shop. Cannot express how lovely the barn was and how we felt comfortable straight away. Definitely recommend.

    Katie2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • You just have to stay here! The photos of the barn invite you in but once you’re in you might not want to leave. If you do, the local pub the Unicorn does a reasonably priced menu with good food and very friendly staff. The Rhubarb farm shop opposite the barn is worth a visit - try the sausage and onion sausage rolls, they’re delicious 😋. So close to shops and many eateries and Leeds & Wakefield are a short drive away. Visit The Barn, you won’t be disappointed. 😊

  • Another great stay at the Brew House! We love this cosy and stylish space, and Wirksworth in general! Lots of lovely places to eat, drink and walk.

    Joanna2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. Where to start? Sue and Steve we’re away whilst we stayed (would love to meet you both next time!), so we were looked after by Steve’s daughter, Harriet, who was absolutely lovely. She really took care of us and made us feel very at home. On a particularly rainy evening, she lent us a DVD so we could curl up with a bottle of wine, out of the rain! We were so grateful! The minute you open the chunky gate to the property’s garden, you are completely blown away by what I refer to as - The Secret Garden. It’s a garden of my dreams, alive with beautiful plants, antiques and vintage charm. Up some steps, there’s even more garden and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s even given us some inspiration for our own garden! The outhouse is beautiful, the record player, book selection and decor really allows you to have your own private little space away from the world. The Brew House itself is stunning. A teeny tiny cottage which is so cosy. Even though Storm Dennis tried to put a dampener on things, we still felt so relaxed. The Brew House is a gorgeous vintage blot hole and we loved having a record player. We brought our own records but there was also a lovely selection there too! The bed was comfortable and warm, the bathroom is exactly what we needed. There were some lovely touches such as the soap, chocolates, coffee, biscuits and milk supplied, which we were very grateful for. Locally, you HAVE to visit The Feather Star! A stunning micro pub with delicious real ales, records to browse and buy and it was full of interesting and kind people who were all willing to have a chat. Everywhere is dog friendly which was great for us as we’d left our dog with family - it gave us the perfect opportunity to stroke ALL of the dogs! We particularly enjoyed the Hope and Anchor pub who served us a wonderful meal (far beyond what you’d expect from a pub!). We loved Mercia, which is just around the corner and we ended up having breakfast there most mornings! We’re vegetarian and they did a wonderful veggie breakfast!! The Heritage Museum is also worth a visit for those of you who enjoy local history! Le Minstrel gave us one of our favourite meals too, ask to sit downstairs as the chic decor is really pretty and the wine selection is perfect! The StarDisc is lovely - would highly recommend a walk up to it. The views are breathtaking! Only a stones throw away are the beautiful Cromford and Matlock, which we visited for walking and Scarthin Books is an absolute MUST for any book lovers! I honestly can’t recommend The Brew House more, it’s given us one of the best trips away we’ve ever had! Huge thank you to Sue, Steve and Harriet for allowing us to stay and giving us lots of wonderful memories! Xxx

    Fiona2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the cosy& quirky Brew House (and the orangutan in the garden!). We were made to feel very welcome& were showed/told us everything we needed to know on arrival. The bed was very comfy& there were some special touches which were appreciated (including some very tasty chocolates!). We really liked Wirksworth itself - a very nice town with great places to eat& drink & with very friendly people :)

    Elisabeth2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for providing us with a wonderful stay. Steve and Sue are superb hosts & full of information on what is on offer in and around the village. The grounds are beautiful, even in the middle of winter, we had a very relaxing evening in the garden room before going out to dinner. We’ve never had as much fun getting in and out of bed since our childhood. All the best Ian & Sheila.

    Sheila2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic little place right in the heart of Wirksworth! Steve was so friendly and accommodating - he gave us lots of tips about the area for our stay which really helped us make the most of our time there! We loved having a drink and listening to music in the cosy snug! We will definitely be staying again!

    Amy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A very cute & cosy stay in the centre of Wirksworth. Steve is a brilliant host and makes you feel welcome straight away. He gave some brilliant tips for the local area and we immediately realised we should have stayed for more than one night!

There is a local park with a play area and football pitch. Lovely Farm Shop (Bolster Moor Farm Shop) just a mile away, you can get to with a Lovely walk or drive there. Lots more suggestions in our handbook, or just ask if there is something you would like to do we can make suggestions.

  • Sara’s place was ideal for our family gathering with 12 people comfortably seated at the dining table. The kitchen is large and well-equipped. There is a good Co-op store just a few minutes walk away. Excellent communication both before and during our stay.

  • We stayed here for my partner’s 30th birthday. It’s such a great party house, it’s open plan so everyone can stay involved and there’s everything you need. It’s perfect for small children as Sara provides high chairs, a travel cot, toys and plastic plates and bowls etc. I couldn’t recommend it enough

  • We stayed at Millbarn for 2 nights for my sisters hen party. The photos do not do this venue justice! The open plan living space is very stylish and fantastic for groups, the bedrooms are spacious and the beds are all very comfortable! Thank you to Sara for hosting us we had a wonderful stay and every single member of the group was very impressed with our stay! X

  • Just had a lovely weekend at Sara's House celebrating my father in laws 60th birthday. There was 13 of us and everyone enjoyed our stay. The kitchen and living area was plenty bigger enough for the 13 of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The bedrooms are a great size. Beautiful bathroom on the first floor with a huge bath and shower. Sara kept in contact before and throughout for any questions. The kids were so upset when we were leaving, they all wanted to stay at the new house.

  • I chose Greg's place mainly because I used to live on Queen Street. I love the neighbourhood very much. It is close to city centre. Many restaurants, bars and supermarkets are around the corner. Greg's place is better than I imagined. There's a bus stop just right in front of the gate. Greg always replied quickly. We had a problem with heater. Greg and his colleague responded our needs quickly and provided a portable heater to us. They are really nice. My family and I enjoyed our stay here!

A large private room in our family home. It's only minutes away from tram link and bus stops with direct access (10-15 mins - subject to roadworks) to the City centre for the universities, theatres, shops, bars and train station. The gorgeous countryside of the Rivelin and Loxley valleys are only minutes away for walking, cycling and running. Further afield, the delights of the Peak District are easily accessible by car or by bus/train from the city. It's a well situated lovely relaxing space.
A very nice, good sized room with period features. There is a very comfy double bed, a desk and chair, great Wi-fi, a TV/DVD player (with Netflix), plenty of storage space and a window seat overlooking the garden. There are books/DVD's and lots of information leaflets in the room. There is also an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and fan in the room. The large bathroom is only 2 feet away from the bedroom and is shared with us in addition there is a downstairs toilet. There is a small private kitchenette area next to the bedroom where you can help yourself to tea/coffee/juice and cereals/toast/fruit etc, including a fridge, kettle and toaster. There is space within our garage for storing bikes etc Free offroad parking is also available if required
Malin Bridge is a suburb which lies approx 2.5 miles north west of the City centre, it is a typical area full of narrow Victorian streets but is also on the edge of the gorgeous countryside where the rivers Loxley and Rivelin meet, there are lots of walks and cycle routes straight from the doorstep - in fact part of the famous 2014 Tour de France route is within easy reach. Hillsborough Park is also close by which hosts a weekly Parkrun on Saturday mornings and next to the park is a very good Leisure centre/swimming pool. Hillsborough football stadium is also within easy walking distance. The splendour of the Peak district is easily accessible by car (Stanage edge 20 mins, Castleton/Edale 30 mins) there are also regular trains and buses from the city centre to the hope valley and Chatsworth etc. As the City Centre is approx 2.5 miles away and only takes 10-15 mins, we have the best of both worlds The local area isn't known for having a great cafe culture however there are plenty of reasonable places to eat and drink which we can give guidance on as well as lots of local facilities such as convenience stores, supermarkets, banks, hairdressers, petrol stations etc etc For shop-aholics Meadowhall is only a tram ride away and has over 260 retailers all under one roof.
  • Alan and Melanie's place is very cosy and stylish - exactly as depicted in the advert. I loved the idea of adapting a walk in wardrobe into a mini kitchenette- it made us feel comfortable and more independent . The house is perfectly located, both close to the city and the countryside, with only few minutes walk to Sheffield Rivelin Valley nature trail. Alan and Melanie were very responsive and helpful but at the same time very respectful of our privacy. It was a perfect stay and I would definitely reccomend them to anyone!

    Paulina2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed with Alan & Melanie overnight. First time in shared home. Check in was smooth, constant contact with hosts and warm greeting on arrival. Room was lovely and bed super comfy. It was a shared bathroom but never saw hosts so as if private. There was a cupboard coverted into a small kitchen with fridge, kettle, toaster & basic food stuffs for breakfast; a genius use of space. Great value for money, would stay again if ever in sheffield overnight.

Our clean and spacious property is a stone's throw from Sheffield city centre and the Peak District National Park. Why not share coffee and cake in the cosy lounge? Dinner in the dining-kitchen? Morning tea in the garden? Feel free to make yourself at home in the shared spaces or retreat to your private room. Richard is looking forward to making your stay in Sheffield as welcoming and enjoyable as possible.
Your light and spacious double room is the perfect setting for relaxation during your time in Steel City. From your window you can look out across the city and let in the breeze. The comfy bed and duck-down duvet make for perfect hibernation, and the double glazing, central heating, and blackout curtains will keep things toasty and quiet. Travelling as two friends? See if my additional single room is available (also listed on AirBnB). Make yourself at home during your stay, and feel free to ask us any questions you have. Richard is looking forward to meeting you.
The semi-detached brick house is built on a hill just outside the city centre. It is tastefully furnished and modern, having been built only in 2005. Despite its proximity to the city, the estate is quiet and you're never far from green space.
  • Richard made me really feel at home during the 3 months I stayed at his place! The room is exactly as advertised and you can use the entire house (including kitchen and living room) during your stay. Richard is a lovely host, will help you wherever he can and he knows all hidden places in Sheffield and around. I would definitely recommend!

  • Great stay, cosy well thought out room with a really comfortable bed!! Richard was responsive, cats were adorable! No problems-good for a couple of days or longer for work/courses. The house as well as a whole is great clean and modern and we used the kitchen and living room (Richard was occasionally around with an occasional chat but usually out all day with work sometimes weekend). Check in can be confusing (smartphone needed) at first but if you follow all the instructions it’s fine. Just a reminder no lock on bedroom door. 25min walk ish to town downhill-to come back...it’s uphill-but tram stop Is a few mins walk from the house. Premier supermarket store close by for basics. Thanks again, recommended.

This double room is in the house of an artist, in a quiet street and in walking distance from the universities and city centre. The house is full of character and provides a great base from which to explore Sheffield and the surrounding countryside.
The house is spacious shared just with the host and will particularly suit people who appreciate a quiet environment in a relatively central location.
The house is in a great location in the city. It is just a few minutes walk from the bustle of Abbeydale and London Roads, in the heart of the antiques quarter, yet on a very quiet street. Around the corner in the other direction is the leafy area of Nether Edge with a 15 minute walk to Hunters Bar and Ecclesall Road. Numerous convenience stores and independent coffee shops are within just a few minutes walk from the house and larger food shops a little further away. London Road is one of the best known areas for eating out in Sheffield at every budget.

  • A fabulous gem of a place to stay and a super host to be found in Helen. A clean, tidy house located within easy distance of everything you could need plus it is located in a quiet street. The bed is super comfy too and makes for a wonderful nights sleep. I have stayed several times and each time I feel like I am “coming home” as it is just so welcoming. Helen is also a talented artist and her paintings are throughout the house. I always enjoy looking for the new pieces and talking to Helen about them.

  • Helen's place was only a few mins walk from my daughter's place, so really convenient in a lovely area of Sheffield close to bus routes etc. Her house is cosy & comfortable with nice, interesting touches. She provided generous breakfast items and great instructions for the keys, heating, shower, and everything else. Loads of space. Great value. Great communication. Would def like to stay again.

Come and stay in our stone-built Victorian house, 10 mins walk from the train station, easy walking distance from the city centre with good connections to the Peak District. Pretty garden. Martha the cat likes visitors!
Our home is spacious, light and comfortable. Your bedroom has a double bed, hanging space, a digital radio, and a comfy bed with an electric blanket. There are toiletries for you to use, and information about Sheffield to give you ideas if you're new to the city. We have Wifi throughout the house, and have Netflix connection we can connect you to.
We live just a few doors down from the beautiful Norfolk Park with gorgeous views across the city. You can walk to the city centre at a 15 minute stroll through a park. There's so much to see and do in Sheffield - we'd be happy to give advice about the best places to go. We also have guide books and maps to help you get around the city and surrounding countryside.

  • Joanna and Pete are such lovely hosts. From the get go we felt at home in their quirky and cozy home. Their house is full of lovely details- you can see the years of sentimental keepsakes. We loved that, as well as the sneaky visits from Martha the cat. Joanna and Pete were loaded with local recommendations and you can just tell they love living in Sheffield (In fact, they made us want to move there :) We really appreciated the tasty breaky in the morning, the comfy matress and how well located their home is. Being a 10 minute walk from the city centre was super handy. We would highly recommend staying here. We'll be back for sure!

Situated on Queens street, an area famous for Solicitors offices you are surrounded by fantastic cafe's, bars, and restaurants catering for both lunch and evening trade. This apartment is in a safe and secure area! You are also just a few meters walk from Fargate which often hosts specialty markets and all your usual High St outlets including Marks and Spencers, H+M, and WHSmiths.
Designed especially for modern day living requirements, the studio has been finished to an extremely high standard with all the specifications you could expect to find in a professional City Centre apartment or studio. The living area has a flat screen TV, 2 seater sofa, coffee table, dining table and 2 chairs. The bedroom furniture includes a modern double bed, wardrobe with drawers and a bedside table. The kitchen is equipped with basic cooking essentials. A luxury tiled bathroom with large shower gives the studio a really opulent feel. There is storage available. Modern decor, quality furniture and at least four (4) windows -- to allow for natural light -- makes the apartment stand out.
The hallway and other communal spaces are quiet and tidy.
  • Great location, lovely and clean and also had toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo there which was helpful!

  • Very comfy and clean apartment in great location in Sheffield. Very simple check in process, and a really nicely furnished place. Really quick and helpful communication. Only downside was being on ground level, a bit noisy when the cleaning vans went past. Opposite a pub so could be noisy end of the week, but mid-week was totally fine.

  • I really loved my stay at Scrabble House! The space was clean and tidy, very cosy and comfortable. The word "quirky" is used in a lot of reviews and I think that's accurate! The area is also pretty cool with lots of independent shops. I think any negative reviews on here are down to people not reading the description properly. Air B&B is not the same as a hotel! You are paying for a unique and homely space, not uniformity and clean lines. I wouldn't normally respond to the negative reviews of others but having read them, they seem very unfair! I would 100% reccomended this property to anyone looking for a central, comfortable and unusual space near to central Sheffield.

    - Why stay in a room, when you could have your own little house? - Built in 1860's - Newly refurbished - Sleeps 6 - Super-king master bed - New shower room - New kitchen - Private parking - In Nether Edge - Two cafés just doors away - Two local supermarkets - Local bakery - Tea, real coffee, juice, fresh fruit and cereals for your breakfast - Near universities, city centre and Peak District - Buses: Chatsworth House every 30 mins. Town every 10. - 24/7 Check-in - Superfast wifi - Internet TV
This is is the converted coach-house and wash-house attached to a fine old Victorian home built in the 1860's. There is a separate entrance for your accommodation so you are in your own private space. We are in the heart of Nether Edge close to local shops, cafes and a traditional local pub. There are frequent buses into town and out into the peak district. This is what you get: Upstairs double bedroom Downstairs bed/sitting room (with an extra bed on platform above). Brand new shower room (installed 2018) with unlimited mains pressure hot water. Newly fitted kitchen. Private off street parking (ample space for 2 cars). Secure bicycle storage. Small outside seating area. Cereals/milk/fruit/tea/coffee/juice for breakfast. The Old Coach House is a great space for two or three people. But it can sleep as many as five or six. If you need the extra beds, the living room can become a second bedroom with two double beds (one king-size double sofa bed, plus one small double on raised platform). You'll need to be good friends though. Two of the beds are in the same room. And you will all be sharing the one bathroom and the small kitchen. The first double bedroom is the old hayloft of the coach-house. Very light and spacious with one window overlooking our courtyard and another overlooking the garden. The floor is wooden. The ceilings are sloping and there are old wooden beams and a big desk. But the main feature of the room is the super-king size bed. The frame is hand crafted from timber reclaimed from an old Yorkshire mill. The mattress is pocket sprung. Medium firm. All the bedding is 100 % cotton and there's a cosy duck feather and down quilt. The second double bedroom (family room) is downstairs. It is the old wash-house. A very characterful room with exposed brickwork, an old solid-fuel iron cooking range and high sloping ceiling. If you are only booking for two guests, this room becomes your living room with sofa, armchair and coffee table. If you are a larger party, there will be one king size sofa bed in this room. Then on a raised platform, an additional small double bed. (4ft). Ideal for a single person or two children. This bed is accessed up a steep narrow staircase. (Mind your head!). There's a little seating area outside - just for you! There's a really good wi-fi signal and high speed internet connection. The Old Coach House has its own wi-fi access point to a Virgin Media 200 Mbps fibre-optic broadband connection. There are ethernet sockets in each bedroom if you prefer to have a wired connection. In each bedroom you have a Smart TV with HD Freeview channels and full internet connectivity for BBC iPlayer, All4, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Now TV etc (you need to bring your own account details to log on to subscription services). Downstairs there's a Cambridge Audio wireless loudspeaker so you can play your own music from a phone or tablet. In the kitchen you have an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer, and washer dryer. You get a range of cereal, muesli, juice, fresh fruit, real coffee, teas and milk so that you can make your own breakfast. There are two cafes very close by if you want to go out for breakfast. And there's a local bakery just round the corner selling fresh bread. For meals later in the day there's traditional pub food at the nearby Byron House pub. And a multitude of different eating places and local pubs a short walk away. If you need a travel cot or high chair, do ask, we can usually let you borrow ours. The Old Coach House has it's own independent gas central heating and unlimited hot water. (new boiler fitted 2017). All bedding is 100% cotton. And there are plenty of towels - no need to bring your own. If you are coming by bicycle (or bringing a bicycle) you are welcome to use our spacious locked bike shed. We'd rather you didn't put your bikes in The Old Coach House.
Nether Edge is 1.8 miles from Sheffield city centre and railway station. It is close to both the University of Sheffield and the Sheffield Hallam University and close to the main teaching hospitals. There are frequent buses to town. There are lots of trees round here and big old stone-built houses. There are plenty of cafes and pubs within walking distance. Indeed two cafes and a pub on our very own street. There's a Sainsbury's Local store and an Indian take-away just round the corner. And a Tesco Local and Pizza Hut ten minutes walk away. We are 2 miles away from the Peak District national park. A short drive or local bus journey from Chatsworth House and Bakewell.

Rich is looking forward to making your stay in Sheffield as welcoming and enjoyable as possible.
Your cosy single room is the perfect setting for relaxation during your time in Steel City. From your window you can look out across the city and let in the breeze. The comfy bed and duck-down duvet make for perfect hibernation, and the double glazing, central heating, and blackout curtains will keep things toasty and quiet. Travelling with others or after a little extra space? I also list a double room for rent! Why not check if that's available too? Make yourself at home during your stay, and feel free to ask any questions you have. I'm looking forward to meeting you.
The semi-detached brick house is built on a hill just outside the city centre. It is tastefully furnished and modern, having been built only in 2005. Despite its proximity to the city, the estate is quiet and you're never far from green space.
  • I had a good stay at Richards house. Very clean. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Richard as he works shifts and I work long days. Getting in and out of his home was a great touch, using an app on your smartphone. Very easy to do. Would definitely stay again

    Mark2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The room is exactly as described and Richard is a friendly and approachable host.

    Steve2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

It's family friendly, high chairs/cots are supplied. Check in anytime using keycode entry.
An old commercial building, The Bank was built in the 1930s. It owes its aesthetically pleasing architecture and art deco style to Sheffield's pre-war industrial prominence.

A very contemporary and comfortable space with everything that you could need for both a short and long stay. Tracey was super quick to respond to any questions as well as provide tips on local places to visit/eat and we were able to check in slightly earlier to accommodate our toddler. Would definitely come and stay here again

  • A very nice and comfortable apartment.

    Alison2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice room, clean and good location. But the room is very dry, it is recommended to put a box that can humidify. And the response speed is really slow, when a person is at a loss in a foreign country is really anxious. Be considerate You also want to be considerate to the guests. Thank you :) Overall good and worth returning.

  • First time using Air B and B and I was very surprised. Apartment was lovely. Clean, spacious and had everything I needed... Even little touches like shampoo and conditioner! Right in the centre. Great telephone and camera access which made me feel very secure. Was so quiet... Didn't hear another person my entire stay! Did want to book again but fully booked... And I can see why! Thank you very much guys. Take care

  • Really good location to walk to everywhere. Apartment has everything you need. Good shower :)

    Hannah2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is probably the best Airbnb I've stayed in with all things considered. Amazing location for everything. It's a 10 min walk from train station, pubs and restaurants aren't too far. It's a nice looking building and the studio apartment provided everything necessary from a comfy bed to easy to use washing machine. The shower was and bathroom in general was great. Just a nice modern studio with all of the fixings. The modernized cathedral was great to see in day or at night on the way home. I couldn't ask for anything more. When I asked to check in early or check out later they were responsive. I'd easily consider this place and the hosts should I need to visit Sheffield again.

Ground floor flat (own entrance, easy wheelchair / pram access), below a family home in a quite street. Fully equipped kitchen, power shower & deep luxury bath. Will sleep 2 (+2 option on the comfortable sofa-bed in the living area). 15-20 min walk to Sheffield Uni, 20-30 min walk to town. Travel cot, high chair, DVD's, toys and a large trampoline all available. Access to large garden with sunny sitting area + free parking. Breakfast and snacks (with consideration to food intolerances) included.
The apartment is quite new and carefully designed. It has wide doors and flat access from the street- making it easy for prams/ wheelchairs. While it is not large, it is cosy and perfectly located for many local attractions including Sheffield University (15 min walk), hospitals (15 min walk), pubs (5 min walk), parks (5-10 min walk) etc. We are also not far from the city centre- you could walk it in 20-30 minutes, or take a bus (running every 10 minutes, and takes approx 10 minutes). A taxi to the centre will cost approx. 6 pounds. As well as a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, gas hob, double electric fan oven, toaster, microwave, coffee machine, washing machine and dryer, food mixer etc), it has other facilities (hair dryer, iron, full size iron board etc), and many little luxuries in place- fluffy towels, cotton sheets, interesting bath and shower goodies, large selection of organic herbal teas, fruit and snacks, electric blanket, and on occasions, (mostly on the weekends) some home-baked bread...
Crookes is a quite residential neighbourhood. Being so close to university, there are many students living here, and hence we enjoy great bars, restaurants, trendy shops and young atmosphere, as well as being safe and quite. We live next to two wonderful parks, with excellent views and good play facilities.
  • Richard and Yael were so helpful, responding very quickly to messages and questions. The flat is compact but really well kitted out and the sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable to sleep on. The variety of options for breakfast was brilliant and loads of little details were so great. Having off street parking was nice too. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • Airbnb at its best! A perfect space to stay and study for the weekend. The flat was spacious, tastefully decorated and spotless. Lots of lovely touches really made this a home from home. Free parking and in walking distance to the University. Yael is a welcoming host who made sure I had everything I needed. Looking forward to staying again in the spring.
