“If you are looking for something besides burritos and tacos, nopalito is my favorite for casual Mexican food. Be sure to try the margarita with mezcal instead of tequila. Nopalito does not take reservations. Typically about a 15-30 minute wait.”

Beer Garden

“This is an unapologetic rock and roll bar that always plays a solid selection of rock, punk, and metal. It’s not for everyone. If you’re into beer, they have LOTS of great beers on tap (~30+) and good bar food. The garden out back is great on a sunny day. ”

Taco Place
$$
““Not your typical Mexican fare”, the “inventive” tacos and other “tasty” small plates at these “high-energy” taquerias are “full of surprises”; expect a “constant party” in the “hip” surrounds, which all have outdoor tables, and if there’s a “wait” (they’re no-reservations), bartenders mixing “mean cocktails” help pass the time.”

Pizza Place

“The oozy, buttery deep-dish pies are not a carbon copy of some Chicago creation by any stretch. With topping possibilities like artichokes and goat cheese, they’re a distinctly California creation — and a drop-dead delicious one at that. Note: the menu recently welcomed some healthy seeming things like a roasted kale appetizer and a broccolini topped deep dish pie, but don’t miss the classic — with sausage, mushrooms, and green bell pepper — and the spicy chicken wings. ”

“I love the fresh ceviche here and the cocktails too! The restaurant is casual and usually doesn't require a reservation but sometimes there a little wait. Eat at the bar if you are a solo traveler and meet some new friends.”

“Delicious brunch, hands down! You will not be disappointed with this place. With over 10,000 reviews on Yelp and maintaining a solid 4 stars... However, avoid this place if you're hungry, during the weekend.. the line will be insane!”

Pizza Place

“The best pizza in San Francisco! Pro Tip: You can join the waitlist online to reduce your wait time by using Yelp. I recommend adding yourself to the waitlist about 30 minutes before you'd like to dine, and an 60 minutes ahead of time on Friday and Saturday nights.”

“According to Eater San Francisco: "El Farolito, whose name nods to purported super burrito inventor El Faro, took the original Mission-style burrito and perfected it. These burritos — roughly the size of a neck pillow — are grilled to perfectly combine their ingredients, with rice, beans, and meat (carnitas and al pastor recommended) into a messy whole that’s far more than the sum of its parts. There are several Bay Area locations, and two in close proximity in the Mission, but the narrow, energetic Mission Street location is the favorite. Go for the super — an incredible value — and bring cash (they don’t take cards). It’s bright and upbeat inside, with some seating and the occasional mariachi band performance."”
