“Bar San Juan- This is the best Spanish tapas I have ever had! If you like little family run restaurant with a great atmosphere this is the place for you. Table booking isn't available and the wait can be 1-2 hours for a table. However if you can get a spot at the small bar and have a few drinks its more than worth the wait!”

Park
“There are a number of ways you can get onto the nature reserve, we find the easiest is to access it via Brookburn rd, just off from Beech rd. This is a great place to wonder along the river Ees which joins up with the River Mersey. Great place to go for a jog or walk with the dog. ”

Cafe
“This is our favourite place to go for food or just a drink. The food is French bistro style, the menu includes a fantastic steak frites, baked camembert , mussels and a changing dessert menu. Great low key vibe, excellent selection of drinks. They also host a comedy night which is highly regarded. They've just introduced a new breakfast menu. Highly recommended. ”

Japanese Restaurant

“The food is a mixture of Chinese and Thai with the Dim Sum starters a real treat. Main courses like the Thai Style King Prawn and Beef / Seafood Udon come in Bento boxes with noodles and rice and you get soup and salad on the side with oranges to freshen up after. This may all sound like standard fare, but trust us when we say it's cooked to extremely high standards and the quality and quantity of the fish or beef puts it way ahead of lazy comparisons to places like Wagamamas. With prices sitting at the £8 mark for a main course and takeout even cheaper, it is ridiculously good value”
