Lisa and Carlos were fantastic - it was so easy. We turned up - greeted with a smile and ice cold glass of water. My girlfriend and I felt really comfortable being there and thoroughly enjoyed our stay whilst we visited family and friends. It would have been lovely to have spent an extra day getting to know Lisa and Carlos, thank you guys x

We had come to Stokenchurch in August for a friend's wedding. When looking for a nice place to stay, we came across Lisa and we can only say that we have encountered it extremely warm and beautiful. Actually, I am doing at reviews always something hard to give the maximum number of points, but Lisa and your family (her husband, her sister was to visit and her dog Archie) have earned this far. Not only that the property is beautiful and very clean, Lisa had us in advance already a very big help to get in the organization from London Gatwick Airport to Stokenchurch. They recommended to take the "Airline Oxfordbus" and get off in Lewknor where they picked us up by car. All this has worked wonderfully. In the car she asked us directly if we had already eaten something. At home, they prepared us with her sister a delicious dinner (very good cheese, olives, crackers, tomato, fresh lettuce and wine) before. The supper we all taken together, so that we could get to know each dirket closer. Lisa's husband asked us then if we would not like to go with him to a pub in the next village, where his son had a live gig with his band. A great evening. The next morning we have a typical, delicious "English Breakfast" get (Lisa had asked us the night before what we would like to have breakfast). Until the wedding we had a little more time, we were able to spend relaxed in their home. Since the celebration Location was something outside, it was for Lisa naturally offer us to go there, which we also gladly accepted. Equipped with front door key and the phone number of a taxi, it was no problem to come at night back. Also on our second and unfortunately last morning we were spoiled Lisa with a fresh, delicious breakfast continentalem. Late in the morning, they took us back to the bus station, so we could begin our journey home. What we still really liked, we had to prepare our room before the possibility of coffee and tea for us. In addition, more fresh water and cooled milk was made ready. The Country cottage in Chilterns we recommend without hesitation with beautiful and warm memories on. Every time we would dwell with Lisa.

What a fantastic place to stay! Lisa was so helpful during the booking process, providing information on the local area and was very welcoming when we arrived, even putting cushions outside in the garden so we could enjoy the evening sunshine. The house itself was perfect - a comfy bed, a private bathroom and our own area to make tea and coffee was really appreciated. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a place in the Chilterns - a beautiful location and lovely house (and Archie the dog is wonderful!)

We had a great time at Bigmore Cottage. Lisa and Carlos were very fiendly and generous hosts. The house was really lovely and spacious. It was a comfy room with a bathroom for guests use only, just next door. There was coffee, tea and drinks outside our room. We cycled from London and there are lots of nice villages in close proximity and few good pubs walking or cycling distance (recommended by Lisa). We would highly recommend a visit there and we'd definitely love to go again if we are around the area.

Lisa, Carlos and Archie were very welcoming hosts. The place was lovely and charming and the full english breakfast gave us a great boost for the long walking day! They also prepared a nice bed for our doggy. Strongly recommended for a nice city escape.

A great, opulent and crazy house, nothing boring about this place, and definitely one to remember, fabulous for a party and plenty to do for all ages, we had lovely weather so went into Marlow and some lovely pubs but there was loads to do in the house if the weather had been miserable. Can't wait to come back in the summer and make the most of the BBQ and garden. There was loads of information about the house and local area. A great weekend, thank you

Adrian's house is a very grand-looking house in a beautiful location that gives easy access to scenic walks and villages in the Chilterns. The house definitely has a wow factor and the dining room in particular made an excellent backdrop for a private party. Plenty of space for socialising both inside and out and our family group never felt on top of each other. We walked to Turville (Vicar of Dibley fame) on footpaths easily accesssed from the house, however we drove (on one evening) to the local pub as we weren't confident walking on the dark main road with children; I would recommend you take hi-viz and a torch if you want to tackle the walk up the Marlow Road! All-in-all, a great location and house for a memorable and comfortable social gathering in a prime location; thank you Adrian.

We stayed at Adrian's place to celebrate my girlfriends 30th birthday. The house is amazing providing enough space for everyone staying. Each room had its own en-suit bathroom and the whole house was immaculately clean. Access to wifi, games room, excellent heating and huge kitchen with all appliances made the stay even better. It isn't often you find a place like this that caters for all of your needs.

This place was fantastic! It was perfect for my sister's hen do. Adrian was very quick to respond if any problems.

Amazing don't really describe this place,magical in some ways,surreal to say the least. Everyone was in awe and overwhelmed. It was perfect for an unforgettable weekend. Had everything we needed and the location is perfect, enough shops /pubs and restaurants nearby and close enough for a London commute. The decor is brilliant and mad for some great photo's. The hamper was also a nice touch, thank you.

Adrian is amazing. We went with a relaxed weekend in mind with another couple friend and our 4 kids. Kids loved the house and the garden. The kitchen is huge with all utilities in it so dinners were a good social activity. Days were spent at Cliveland estate (20 minutes drive) which is great place to go with the kids

Beautiful house, well organised hosts and great location - can not recommend enough for a weekend away for families and friends. I'll be back in the summer to make use of the gorgeous garden too!

Ahsan has been absolutely great. Very helpful throughout my stay, very accommodating! I absolutely recommend staying here. Lovely location, nice spacious room, on the doorstep to some lovely forest walks, good company too. Lightening-fast wifi! I also liked it for its proximity to Sands Industrial estate, where I had a trial week with a company a couple of weeks back. Ahsan's place is conveniently close!

The host made me feel welcome he's a lovely person BUT he had changed his sitting room into sleeping accommodation by adding a wardrobe! THERE IS NO BED!!!!!! just a sofa bed and a makeshift mattress. Worst night sleep ever : ( Terrible preparation for my interview...

We did not meet the host as she was away, but she was pleasant and helpful over the phone and by text. She kindly left breakfast provisions for us. Some more work needs to be done on the house, particularly carpeting the stairs to make them safe, and tidying up the plasterwork in the bathroom. There was no information left about how to get onto the wifi and no local maps about the area to look at which was rather inconvenient.

Brianna is extremely helpful and accommodating and resolved a slight issue with the robustness (!!) of one of the beds really quickly

Amazing little place, absolutely perfect for us. Really cute and well appointed with all the right cooking equipment.the shower is amazing ! Walks right from the doorstep, loads of great little pubs and churches to explore. Had a lovely stay at this cottage. It's a very peaceful setting and the house itself is very quaint and beautiful. Brianna had provided lots of welcome gifts, chocolates bread and jam and the like, which was a lovely touch. Quiet, clean, and great central heating for a short stay in late November. Perfect!

We had a great time in Cate's beautiful home. It's situated in a truly gorgeous part of the country with amazing walks right out of the front door and several fantastic pubs within walking distance. Little details like a well positioned hairdryer made us feel especially at home. The view out over the rolling Chiltern Hills from the large and comfortable kitchen was particularly lovely. We're already thinking of rebooking for a weekend in the summer.

We loved our stay and being in Fingest. Cate made us feel so welcome and the house was really comfortable and relaxing. Our boys (age 5&6) loved it too. Loads of really wonderful places to eat locally, great trip all in all.

Thank you Cate for being a great host. Communication was clear from the start & we felt very welcome. The cottage is cosy and we very much enjoyed the evenings by the fireplace, it made all the difference during our stay. The area is picturesque (like the view from the cottage), with lots of great walks and pubs. Pack your wellies and go exploring. The area is quiet, you can see the stars at any time, and it also felt like other activities were accessible to us. We especially enjoyed our meal in the five horseshoes, which is recommended in Cate's guide you will find in the cottage, alongside maps to plan your walks.

Cate was very welcoming, friendly and amenable. She gave us great tips on where to go. The house was impeccable and stylish, in a great village with lots to do in the vicinity.

Had a great stay in Fingest. It's a beautiful cottage that mixes old with new perfectly. The front room is traditional and cosy for the evenings whilst the kitchen / open-plan living space is bright and a lovely place to relax and read. The views out onto the fields are unspoilt and it is so quiet. Nice to be woken by birdsong! The front garden is a real asset too - beautifully kept and landscaped. A great place to relax in the sun. Fingest itself is picturesque. It has an old Norman church and a lovely village pub that does brilliant food. They were very accommodating for a party of four of us and my sister's guide dog. We also went on a walk down the Chiltern Way and visited the village of Turville. Definitely worth seeing. Another Norman Church and country pub that is overlooked by a Windmill on top of the hill. On our way back to London we also dropped by Henley on Thames which is full of good pubs by the river and had a nice French market on at the time. Found Cate to be very accommodating. Excellent communication before, during and after our stay. She was very welcoming and obviously takes a lot of pride in her cottage. Thank you. Would definitely recommend a stay at Cate's place in Fingest for anyone looking for a relaxing few days in the Chilterns!

Cate's house is in an idyllic quiet village setting, lambs outside the window, beautiful rural views, lovely garden and terrace, great walking for the Chiltern Way on the doorstep, and local pub 3 mins walk away. Cate was informative and helpful about her house, local pubs, walks etc, and her house was comfortable, stylish and clean! A very special place to stay.

Andy was very helpful and communicative whilst the room was very spacious and clean. Dog was very cute and freindly but not imposing. Decent shower too which always helps!

Terrible. Don't do it! I left early. The photos are not the actual room. My room had a leak and lacked basic essentials - like toilet paper. The walls a super thin and there is a strip club across the road... I left early and asked the manager to call me - that never happened.

My husband rented the room for 6 nights, unfortunately he had to shorten his stay due to family matters. But he was very happy with the room. It was a very good value for money!

The listing was nice and clean. Perfect for what I needed. Didn't seem to be bother that my girlfriend stayed for two nights of stay. Only complaint was that my room was beside boiler room for the digs and was unbarabally hot, needs a FAN!!

The room was clean, equipped like a suite and the staff was friendly. The hotel is in a good part of town that is not too far from the Eden center and most other shops and places are close enough to walk to. I would stay again.

Emma was unable to be there when we arrived but she made perfect arrangements for us to get in. We were given the use of her kitchen so we could make drinks and even use the microwave to cook dinner, which was wonderful as neither of us fancied eating out after a long drive. We were also given the freedom of her sitting room so that we could watch TV and my husband could catch up on the cricket. (Very important for him if not for me!) We slept well and found the bathroom clean and well looked after. This was our first experience of airb&b and, despite her busy timetable, Emma did very very best to make it a success. We are grateful to her and enjoyed our stay very much. It was perfect for our needs.

I stayed with Emma for just under 3 weeks while I looked for a permanent place in High Wycombe, and couldn't have asked for a better hostess. The house is gorgeous, modern, cosy and spotlessly clean, and the room has everything you might need including a great tea/coffee selection! It is very safe and quiet too. I really enjoyed using the gym, piano, garden and comfy living space, as well as playing with Elvis the occasional visiting chihuahua. It was very easy to do things like laundry and ironing. The house is less than 20 minutes' walk to the big Eden Centre shopping area, 25 minutes' to the train station, and is surrounded by parks too. Emma was so helpful with tips about the area, in addition to the useful welcome pack in the room, and helped me with running routes, lending out maps and bikes, and advice on cycle routes to surrounding towns, shop opening times and much else besides. She was also very understanding about accepting a last-minute guest at the end of my stay. Emma was always very easy to contact via email or phone. I found the house a perfect balance of having my own space and independence and seeing nice housemates at the end of the day. Everyone is friendly, considerate and laid-back, happy doing their own thing and you can have as much privacy as you like.

Beautiful modern townhouse overlooking a stunning park. ROOM - Cosy, comfortable bed with everything you need - desk, wardrobe and full length mirror, reading lamp and private large modern bathroom next door. HOST - Annette is so warm and helpful, like a friend you've known a long time. LOCATION - High Wycombe can feel busy and intense but this townhouse is on a quiet street overlooking a stunning park. It feels like I'm in the countryside away from the hustle and bustle which is my ideal way to end the day. Walking distance from the town centre too.
